Yep. Co-op career on and off line as well.
But no online for PS2.
Theres a few songs that can only be unlocked through co-op career as well.

I'm pretty sure it's somewhere in the official GH forums.
In an interview (where exactly? I don't know) some one from neversoft mentioned that sabotage was one of the songs that could only be unlocked in the co-op career and they mentioned something about the online co-op career as well.

Yeah, it's been for a little while now.
I have a real problem with this personally. Just like the battle mode this seems like a real gimmick to attempt to give the game more "replay" value. Well, I hate to break it to you Neversoft, not everyone who will play this game (I'm getting it on PS2 because I didn't want to go through the guitar compatibility issue and I don't have enough to get both GH3 w/guitar and RB full bundle for 360) will be able to play co-op and thus us poor saps are missing out on unlockable content.
I have friends to play the game with but all of my local friends don't play GH and the only ones who will live 3 hours away (too far for me to drive to on a regular basis to do unlockable content).
Seriously, it's like a reward for certain people while discriminating against others. Thankfully it seems none of my favorite songs (or even ones I just merely like) are in there (I have NO interest in Suck My Kiss or Sabotage or Bloc Party) so I haven't cancelled my pre-order, but I came pretty close because of the stupid gimicks that Neversoft keep adding to the game. Is it too hard to just continue the franchise on and allow us to play great songs without adding in "kewl new modes"?
Sorry, rant over. It just really ticked me off when I learned that I'm not going to be able to unlock some songs because I don't have someone here to play with.

Its kinda BS how they messed with the Co-Op play. I don't want to unlock all songs on all difficulties for people who don't play on Expert/Expert. Yeesh, c'mon.

Well in a related story of them messing up the co-op. (Is this old news maybe?)
I've read around and found out that in the Game Informer review of GH 3 they confirmed no co-op quick play and if you want to change challenge level for either player in co-op career you have to start over again. (I don't read Game Informer so if some one can absolutely confirm this or not, please do)
