I just read the new article about Rock Band in Game Informer. For those of you who have been asking about Led Zeppelin and The Beatles: Quote from Steven Van Zandt:

"We'll see what we can do license - wise, but certainly someone like The Beatles or the Stones, U2, Bruce Springsteen, Zeppelin - they'll probably have their own discs."

My question is...a whole disc for U2?!....bleh.

In what issue did you see this? I have this month's issue and saw nothing of this.

sounds like he's saying Led Zeppelin and The Beatles won't be in...

but then again he mentioned "the Stones" and they're in, so... hmmm

That's really about it. They talk alot about the music advisory board and the history of rock. Also how it's gonna be a great new revenue source for musicians, cause their album sales are hurting due to Ipods and the intenet...

Alex hints about branching the game out into different genres.....so...nothing on dates or price of course!

1) You don't HAVE to buy U2

2) MY question would be "ONLY ONE DISC FOR THE ZEP?"

that's it. Kthxbye

Also on page 80 there is a small preview. It dosent really give any new info, it even has an outdated screenshot (rockaway beach).

The part about Zeppelin, U2, Stones, and Beatles sounds like it might be talking about DLC to me. (I don't have the issue so I'm just going off the first post of the topic.) Otherwise, I don't know why they would have mentioned the Rolling Stones in there since they've already been confirmed for the game for a while.

Yes, the whole article is about DLC and future expansion discs.

do they mention anything? Like any other artist, songs or albums?

I surely hope if there are expansion disks, you have the option of saving the songs directly to your hard drive. It would really annoy me to have to switch disks to play different songs.

What's wrong with U2 DLC? You don't know how many of their songs would be great for Rock Band (I'm assuming you're in the camp of people that don't like their new stuff). "I Will Follow," "Electric Co," "Where the Streets Have No Name," "The Fly," "Even Better than the Real Thing"....

I think what he meant was one full Downloadable Album

A whole disc for one band?
Considering it's Rockband, I assume this has to be a downloadable album?
I mean DLC over physical discs right??

Steven Van Zandt is a musician, not a gamer or a developer. Anything he says has to be taken with that in mind. When the man says U2 gets their own disc, he's not speaking the same language as the rest of us. But I haven't read the article, so I didn't see word for word what he said.

Still, if I was betting cold hard cash, I'm betting he means full albums being made available from U2. Like, The Joshua Tree being made available for Download or purchase on disc. Not a full expansion disc or a sequel devoted to nothing but U2. I could be wrong, but that's my bet.

No, I'm in the camp that thinks U2 just plain sucks and Bono or w/e his name is, is a self absorbed douchebag.

I'd be curious as to what you think sucks (particular songs) and what sucks about them. Do they not play fast or loud enough?

i agree. U2 is a pretty awesome band. I like the song they did with green day because it was a real nice song and green day is my favorite band. Does anyone think they will have green day on the DLC list at some point?

I'm curious to know why you automatically think I'm some metal freak that only likes one type of music simply because I don't like U2.

Maybe I was a bit harsh. Let's just say that U2 does'nt do anything for me. I know there are plenty who love them, I'm just not one of them.

Actually to me that says that all of those will be in, they are grouped in there with the Stones who are in the game. To me thats just more reason that they are most likely in this game and will have a decent amount of DLC!

If Little Steve's comment was just about DLC and whatnot, then everything's still gravy
