The following conversation taken from actual minutes of a Harmonix board room discussion on DLC. . .
HMXSean: They scream for GNR, well lets give them Mother Hips
HMXHenry:They want Green Day, well lets give them the Cars
HMXJohnlok:They want Van Halen. . . I got it, lets give them Judas Priest.
HMX Sean:They want the Pixies. . . Okay, that's cool - They want a band from Boston. Ooooh we're from Boston! I just got warm fuzzies! Yeah, let's give them Pixies.
HMX Johnlok: They want Nirvana. . . Hehehehe, we sure suckered them there, didn't we!!!
HMXHenry: They want the Who because we promised them the Who. . .
HMXSean: Yeah, heheh, its coming. . .heheh (So is Christmas)!

Apples isn't an employee, though, and has no clue what goes on at Harmonix headquarters.

I am still sticking to my theory of blindfolding somebody and having them throw darts at a wall of easily and cheaply purchased bands. Of course, The Mother Hips are written in GIANT bold letters and are ten times the size of anything that most people would ever want. Also, all HMX bands are the same.

haha. hell yeah. That's what I would do, but without the Mother Hips on huge-ass letters.

New Version of the conversation:

HMXJohnLock:"Hey guys, its Mother's Day this Sunday so I thought maybe we ought to see what we can release about good ol' Mom this Sunday.
HMXSean:"Ummm. . . I know they kind of suck but Mother Hips might be cool. Yeah, we could do a Mother Hips 3 pack for Mother's Day!!!!"
HMXJohnLock:"Yeah! And I think we could pay them for rights out of my pocket!!!"
HMXHenry:"Yeah but Sean, Mother Hips only has three good songs and one is already in the game"
HMXJohnLock:"Well, my Mom is really into Zero by Smashing Pumpkins."
HMXSean:"Brilliant! We have Zero ready to publish and that saves us having to do that whole Pumpkins three pack!"
HMXHenry:"My Mom wants some Neil Diamond"
HMXSean:"Shut up. . . She's getting the Metal Pack, ummm. . . next week"

I like The Mother Hips, thanks very much. I'm not really a fan of the HMX bands, but this week is one of my happier DLC weeks so far. The Boston pack, My Iron Lung, and the Classic Rock Pack were all great too.

Is it just me, or has this guy snapped a little bit in the last couple days?

I agree. He's gone from a bit off/weird to really annoying.

It's not just you.

U2 WTF?

Van Halen is a very hard band to licence. Nirvana was NEVER announced. GN'R signed exclusivity to GH. Green Day is hard to licence.

And The Mother Hips are Really quite good. So go Die.

So go Die.

Don't know if I'd quite put it that way. More along the lines of "Please unplug your keyboard and/or mouse for a few days".

HMXSean: Hey, let's release DLC specifically to annoy U2Phreak1969.
HMXHenry: Sure, I hate that turd.
HMXJohnlok: Hey, I bet that loser hates The Mother Hips! Let's release some of their songs!

1. The quality that makes something laughable or amusing; funniness: could not see the humor of the situation.
2. That which is intended to induce laughter or amusement: a writer skilled at crafting humor.
3. The ability to perceive, enjoy, or express what is amusing, comical, incongruous, or absurd. See synonyms at wit1.
4. One of the four fluids of the body, blood, phlegm, choler, and black bile, whose relative proportions were thought in ancient and medieval physiology to determine a person's disposition and general health.
5. Physiology.

A. A body fluid, such as blood, lymph, or bile.
B. Aqueous humor.
C. Vitreous humor.

6. A person's characteristic disposition or temperament: a boy of sullen humor.
7. An often temporary state of mind; a mood: I'm in no humor to argue.
8.
A. A sudden, unanticipated whim. See synonyms at mood1.

which definition of humor are you referring to?

You are a nut buddy. Get yourself some professional help. Seriously bud, you need some therapy. Seriously, I'm not joking, please seek professional help before its too late. Trust me when I tell you that you are at the edge. You must seek professional help now!!!! Don't wait until its too late.

I appreciate your concern, but if you can't see the humor in my parody, I think it is you that needs the help. To answer the question about what I define as humor, let me quote George Carlin. . .
"Take any actual situation and blow one aspect of it completely out of proportion. Even the smallest truth grossly exaggerated can appear funny"
I think in that context anybody having trouble seeing the humor in my two parodies could perhaps draw some parallels.
Besides, back to the subject of music, it is laughable that we get Mother Hips for Mother's Day. . . You don't see that as funny? Someone at Harmonix obviously thought there was some tongue in cheek comedy there. And if we are truly trying to find something laughable here, if you include today's announced pack, two of the last four weeks have consisted of no name bands (HMX DLC basically).
