Theres not enough metal in this game. Im happy that they put Metallica and Black Sabbath in this, but it needs more. I mean Iron Maiden, Megadeth, Motley Crue, and KoRn would be decsent bands for this game. Im happy that they put Detroit Rock City and Highway Star and Epic, but it needs more metal. If not that put in some Guns N Roses.

Dio, Iron Maiden, Twisted Sister, and a few Hair Metal bands.
Since singing is a big point of Rock Band, I think those are the metal bands I'd like to see most.

Take the Metal poll! Hopefully this thread and others like it will influence Harmonix somewhat as to what DLC to add to the game, as I don't think much metal will make the initial CD.

Um ok....lets see. Helloween, mostly the early stuff, Gamma Ray and all the german scene, you know, bands like Primal Fear, Brainstorm, Paragon...I love Iced Earth, Megadeth, Maiden (OF COURSE, because Im not insane), Ive been getting into Mob Rules lately, Savatage... A relatively new band that kicks much ass is Wolfcry, and too bad they are not that widely known. Also a sucker for symphonic metal, though its hard for me to find bands I like as much as Nightwish.
Mercyful Fate sends chills up my spine...
I also LOVE Hammerfall, up till the Renegade album. Dream Evil is another good band, but I havent heard much of their music after their main guitarist left to form Firewind, which I havent heard much of by the way. Nocturnal Rites, White Skull, Thy Majestie, Skylark, Manowar, Stratovarius....
I even like Rob Rock if you can believe it lol (you know, because of the christian messages)
Im a sucker for folk metal like Falconer and Wuthering Heights. I also very much like shredding, though I dont have any music, just a pretty good list of videos from youtube on my fav list.
My favorite band right now is Blind Guardian, although I cant digest their last two albums.
Its just a taste of what I have in my MP3 right now....which I should update cuz Ive had the same stuff in it since I bought a couple of months ago :/

Korn and Ill Nino is something that should be required for this game! And they need a little more Nirvana. System of a Down would be fun to play on here though!

I want some Death, Doom and Gothic metal. As DLC that is, wouldn't really fit for the Disc-tracks.
Meshuggah would rule for guitar, and drums the periphal had two bass-pedals.

This game needs metal more than it could possibly know. I already canceled my preorder due to the craptacularity of the tracklist announced so far. Unless some really good songs are in the last 11 or until theyre announced as dlc Im not buying.
Metal I really want to see:
Nile
Behemoth
3 Inches of Blood
Lamb of God
Children of Bodom
Cannibal Corpse
Black Label Society (WHY HASNT ZAKK BEEN IN A GAME SINCE GH1?!?!?!?)
Dethklok
Hatesphere
Hatebreed (not really metal but whatev)
Gojira
Darkest Hour
The Human Abstract
Amon Amarth
Cephalic Carnage
Between The Buried and Me
Job For a Cowboy
DAATH
Light this City
Cattle Decapitation
Decapitated
Balls in your court HMX, Money's in my wallet.

I agree, more metal, but I'd also like to see Priestess, Drist and Wolfmother in the game. As some DLC at least. They're not metal, I'm aware, don't worry. But they're good bands none the less, and Priestess and Drist songs have excellent vocals available, doable drum lines, and active bass lines.

I realize theyre focusing alot on drums in this game. Lets see them map this note chart and then someone pass the song.

Saying it needs more metal is a big statement, 'metal' can be so much.
If taken as the 70s/80s 'heavy metal' (Sabbath/Purple/Maiden/Priest etc) im all in and more, but for that goddamn new 'black/death' (whatever the F* its called) 'metal' with the grunting and lack of rhytm like that nice video someone posted on the previous page I'll pass on crying.
For me Metallica is the on the thin side of the likeable music.
Nilsen581
09-24-2007, 01:22 PM
metal is not good for rythm games like GH and RB.
Well, most metal.
But metal won't appeal to the masses...apparently crappy pop-rock does...
need 60s-70s classic rock...real guitar work on there.
thats why they are coming out with Downloadable Who and Grateful Dead albums...and hopefully more....

this guy gets it...Deep Purple is considered metal and so was Sabbath and others in the game...but the new metal got even "harder" and louder (and much worse)...more recently...doesn't have any rythm and just involves screamin and banging on the guitar as fast as possible.

Ill take death Metal to nu metal any f'ing day!!!
And "most" metal....shut up. You dont know what "most" metal is so dont even try. For you Metallica is the big **** cuz you dont know any more beyond Metallica.
Just so you geniuses know...YOU CANT HAVE MUSIC WITHOUT RYTHM! How can something not have rythm? Even classical music has rythm, because in case you guys didnt know, the concept of rythm is more complex than banging on a drum systematically.
But, if you dont like black and death, thats alright. Now, dont start saying black and death are "new", cuz then you are just talking out of your ass. And, pure, crunchy heavy metal is still going on today, in case you didnt know. Look up bands like RAM and Wolf.
And as a sideline....death metal is not screaming. Screaming is not part of real metal music, unless its done by crazy, savage fans! At least not technical screaming. You want honest to god screaming? Listen to metalcore. They scream cuz they dont know how to do anything else.

Classical music, more than any other kind, I believe, relies upon rhythm, my friend.
Anyway, there is such a thing as music without rhythm. It's a rare thing, but there are certain artists out there (like Steven Wilson of Porcupine Tree fame) who want to explore music without this particular component or dimension (Bass Communion's "Ghosts on Magnetic Tape" springs to mind), just as some artists like to explore atonality or dissonance.

Only Dilenger Escape Plan I would want to see is Irony is a Dead Scene, or the sone Unretrofied.
As for metal, Pantera, Slayer, Ministry, Killing Joke, Iron Maiden, Megadeath, Anthrax, The Young Gods or the Melvins would be cool

Let's face our metal facts here:
Death, Black, Metalcore, or anything else with growling/screaming should not be in the game. Not everyone can or wants to do that! Saying that, it doesn't limit you to not having any metal in the game. There are tons of classic/true metal bands out there that have EXTREMELY catchy lyrics that they are actually singing. This false pretense of all metal being screaming bull**** has to end! For God's sake go to this website!!!!!!

Dammit! *shakes fist*

Aside from a few pure Industrial bits, Ministry is Industrial-Metal.

Im too much of a dick and like to bother people, so it wouldnt have occurred to me to be straight forward lol
Just so people are aware, if its not in metal archives, its not metal. That simple (that or nobody has taken the time to add a certain band). Although, they do allow listing metalcore and grindcore crap.
psyborg (cool name btw), Im sorry to inform you, that the metal in industrial metal is as meaningless as the metal in metalcore. These genres sound nothing like metal, and they should never be numbered among metal bands. Ever.
