View Full Version : Online HUD options... and solos?

When playing online, would you rather have it so your fretboard (or whatever) takes up the full screen, like it would in single player.. or would you rather have like in a local multiplayer game and segment up the screen?
I'm actually kind of torn on this.. while the obvious choice would be that it'd be easier to see what you're doing if you had full screen styles, it'd also be boring as hell when any solos popped up. Well perhaps not boring as hell, but it's a lot more fun to watch someone's note chart and see them hit or miss it than nothing at all.
Perhaps there could be good merging of the two.. maybe a whole new implementation altogether? What are your thoughts, people?
.......
Also, since it's related.. How do you feel about solos in the game? Sure, solos are awesome when you're playing them.. but do you mind sitting it out and getting a beer while someone else is killing the track? (and remember, it may not always be guitar solos)
Personally, I'm all for solos--regardless who's playing them--but that's just my opinion.

I actually have a feeling you'll be able to see everyone's notechart while playing online. Also, I'm all for solos as well, just as long as the person playing it can at least hit a good portion of it so I have something to listen to. :p

I think if the screen was filled with just your own board the online experience wouldn't seem as good, it'd basically be like single player except sometimes the other instruments stuff up.
It'd be cool if it had webcam like support as well. Or even headsets so u could talk to each other during the song.

I think it's very possible that they could find some way to fit all the parts on at once without making the tracks too much smaller. The bass and guitar could be the size of current GH split screen multiplayer, the vocals could scroll across the top (from left to right), and maybe the drums could work similar to the vocals right under them. It'd be cool if there was an option to view all instruments or just your own (and even cooler if you could toggle it during gameplay so when your instrument stops you can see the parts of others, and then switch back to just your instrument when you start playing again).

I think it would be best if your track was large, like the main track in GH, while the other ones are smaller and off to the side. It would give focus on yours, and still let you see what the others are doing.

I'm with Kaboobi on this one.
I believe they will put the other player's fretboards to one of the sides so that you can still enjoy watching your little character dance across the screen.
But i also wouldnt be surprised if they found a way to put everybody on the same fretboard without compromising the ability to see your own set of notes

The HUD sounds awesome, guitar on the right, bass on the left, drums in the middle and vocals on the top, plus everything being transparent so we'll still be abel to see what the hell is happening on the stage!!
