Does anyone know if you can use the Singstar mics also - they connect into the USB slots. Thank you.

The Mic doesn't plug into your USB port, it plugs into the Mic spot on your controller. But if you mean PS3, I have no idea, I don't follow anything on that system.

For a PS3 I guess it would either have a really really long USB cable, or be wireless. It can't plug into a controller like it can on a 360.

I think they changed it. In the gamespot hardware interview it looked like the microphone was a USB. They also said that rock band would support all USB microphones and headsets, so you should be all set

well, i guess one of us will be wrong... but i was under the impression it's a usb mic. every single RB video i've seen with a 360 controller sitting on the stage, there's no chord plugged into it. guess i just assumed it's a usb mic. maybe someone who's been to the tour stops can prove me right/wrong if they've noticed?

All of the instruments on the tour, using 360s, had USB connections. All four going into a single USB hub. The normal 360 controller is used by the Singer to choose difficulty/song/etc. and the Mic is not plugged into it, but the hub. So the controller and mic are not tied together physically to each other.

I can not speak for the PS3's connections. :)

i'd hope i wouldn't have to buy another mic, but you guys forgot something. the cowbell tapping feature, i don't think singstar mics support it:(

All the microphones do during the cowbell/tambourine parts is pickup noise. The software translates any noise into a "bang" onto the mic.

When was that ever said? I see that posted by a lot of people, yet I've never seen anything that lead me to believe it did plug into the controller.

And I know it's changed. At PAX the mic was not plugged into a controller, plus, why would they include a USB Hub in the bundle if the mic did plug into the controller?

Oh, and to answer the question about the Singstar mic, you should be able to. I believe I've seen it stated that you can you any USB mic.
