I'm finding it odd that yet another site is going out of their way to adjust the release date.

Gamespot PS3 (http://www.gamespot.com/ps3/puzzle/rockband/index.html?tag=result;title;1)
Gamespot 360 (http://www.gamespot.com/xbox360/puzzle/rockband/index.html?tag=result;title;0)

Whoa... our PR department has a second job at an EB Games in your city and that is where we are releasing official info now? In no way is that suspicious. ;)

So is this something that is already known and just not released yet. What I am trying to say is, has the date been confirmed within Harmonix and you just can't release the info yet.

To my knowledge no info has been confirmed by or to Harmonix.

From the other thread. AKA, this date is pure BS. Thread over.

wow!! that's reassuring!!

Now if we could only seal the deal with a HMX confirmation.....

Now, see...I'm all in agreement that nothing is official until HMX says so, and we need to take EVERYTHING with a huge grain of salt...but when this many sites, and not just retail sites now, start actually going into their databases or whatever and changing the date. There has to be SOME reason behind it. They're not just gonna do that on a whim, just cause they feel like it. Now, it might come down to "well, so-and-so site had it as this date, so we decided to change ours to match." And if that's the case, ok, fine...but there's got to be some reason behind it.

Actually, I think that's EXACTLY the reason. It's the good old rumor mill. Somebody makes an offhand comment, or a minor error in the GameStop database. Then other people see it and assume (just like some people here) that they must have some insider info, so they change their stuff to match. Everyone else then goes "oh crap, we must have missed the memo!" and changes theirs as well.

Just because a bunch of people guessed the same thing doesn't make them right.

But you do agree that it is possible rigth? I mean Novemeber is coming up pretty fast, and HMX can't withhold this info forever, and Sean did say: "To my knowledge" he's not denying or confirming the issue.

I would never take the word of a retailer over the word of a developer. I also wouldn't trust GameSpot unless they had a press release.

I also see absolutely no reason for the PS3 version to be released first:
1) MS has been putting money toward promoting the game, playing RB as E3 and hosting an after-party. Sony has not.
2) Everything we've seen has been on 360, still haven't even see a running PS3 build.
3) No game has come out for PS3 before 360 yet, unless it has been announced as a time exclusive.

As of yesterday Gamestop doesn't have a street date, so nothing's for sure yet.

Easy people, easy. :P

Ok, then as I said, that is fine. All I'm saying is that there's something behind it all. No one just screws around with release dates just to pass the time.

I will agree that the change was probably intentional.

I will disagree with is being at all legitimate. I don't think this was a leak, or anything more than an educated guess.

So? That could easily be misinterpreted!!

anyway we still got a good month and a half to wait, well see what happens, if it turns out to be Nov-6? great!! if it's Nov-20? it's only a couple of weeks more, that's not so bad.

And I'll agree that you're probably right. But damn that eternal optimist in me...he'll keep whispering softly in my ear, "But what if...what if it's Nov 6...ooooh". :D

Sean did say: "To my knowledge" he's not denying or confirming the issue.

I always liked to think that it just meant that nobody tells him anything.

Now, if you were to ask me personally, Nov. 6 is better (3 days before my birthday). With that said, I'm just happy it'll come out in November.

If I were a betting man, I'd put money on an release date being told a few days before GHIII is released, along with a few announced songs (Pink Floyd please!).

Or we can just "would you kindly" hmxsean.

Gamespot typically shills gamestop products and preorders. Makes sense that they would also change it.

There is no way they would ever release the game earlier on one console than the other. That would be absurd and you would have a lot of angry gamers on your hand.

If anything if the date of PS3 is the 6th most likely then the date of 360 will follow. I hope it does come out the 6th because thats two more weeks of playing it before Thanksgiving than I was expecting!

11/6 is like 6 weeks from now....So we have a $200 (we think, not even told that) game coming out in possibly 6 weeks, but no one can even tell us anything???

This is getting kind of stupid now, just tell us when it's coming out and stop all these rumors and bull****.

Dank yew....

This has happened many times with other PS3 games. Except the PS3 has been on the receiving end

Unfortunately I am getting pretty used to it by now. It would be nice to be on the other end of it for once, although I doubt it will happen!

Gamespot & EBGames are the same thing, just different names and a different web layout. I honestly wouldn't trust either of the stores. I mean seriously would you trust a stores information that rewraps old games to sell as new? I sure as hell don't.

GameStop and EBGames are the same thing. GameSpot is a news site, rather than a store. Not that it makes them any more reliable.
