just joined, here's my LIST. you know the drill, draw lots of attention to the songs you like!

...and you will know us by the trail of dead - another morning stoner [someone else mentioned it and they are DEFINITELY right, its awesome.]

Arcade Fire - Rebellion (Lies)

Architecture in Helsinki - What's in Store?

Art Brut - Formed A Band

At the Drive-In - One Armed Scissor

Broken Social Scene - Fire Eye'd Boy

Buffalo Springfield - For What it's Worth ["stop children, whats that sound..." classic protest music]

Bush - Everything Zen [intense!]

Collective Soul - Bleed

The Darkness - Hazel Eyes [awesomely overthetop]

Destroyer - 3000 Flowers [lo-fi masterpiece]

Dinosaur Jr - Feel the Pain [well you GOTTA have dinosaur jr, really.]

Dream Theater - Erotomania [good idea]

Flaming Lips - She Don't Use Jelly [so much fun!]

Foo Fighters - Wattershed [most intense thing they ever wrote] or
Foo Fighters - Hey, Johnny Park!

Genesis - Dancing with the Moonlit Knight [goes from folk to metal and around the world in 8 epic minutes]

Goo Goo Dolls - Slide [chicks dig it]

Guided by Voices - Cheyenne [quick and obscenely catchy]

Interpol - PDA

King's X - Dogman [their heavy side]
King's X - Everybody Knows a Little Bit of Something [their groovy rock side]

Living Colour - Cult of Personality [IMMORTAL riff]

Manic Street Preachers - Revol

The Mars Volta - Inertiatic ESP [that would be CRAAZY]

Metric - Hand$hake$

Modest Mouse - Gravity Rides Everything [since the real song uses a real precise whammybar type thing, the game could do something tight with that, where the player'd have to do it just right]

Motion City Soundtrack - Cambridge

Mott the Hoople - All the Young Dudes

Mudhoney - In 'N' Out of Grace

Muse - Hysteria [really cool guitar/bass contrast]

My Bloody Valentine - When You Sleep

The National - Secret Meeting

Neil Young - Rockin' in the Free World

Neutral Milk Hotel - Holland, 1945

Pavement - Conduit for Sale! [rambling ranting lyrics and tight music would make this one KILLER]

Pearl Jam - State of Love and Trust

Pixies - Dig for Fire

Placebo - Allergic (To Thoughts of Mother Earth)

Porcupine Tree - Shallow

Radiohead - Paranoid Android

The Replacements - Bastards of Young [anthem!!]

Rush - Freewill [YYZ was perfect. Rush does it!]

Sigur Rós - Hoppípolla [an instrumental with wordless vocals. how cool would that be?]

Silversun Pickups - Well Thought Out Twinkles [perfect for the game, i can't explain why]

Smashing Pumpkins - Cherub Rock [come on, the way all the instruments come in one after another, the guitar solo, so good.]

Sonic Youth - Incinerate [classic band, fresh song]

Soundgarden - Birth Ritual [so PRIMAL]

Sparta - Cut Your Ribbon [really cool syncopation and counterpoint]

Stars - What I'm Trying to Say [instrumentally intteresting pop song. yes!]

Temple of the Dog - Hunger Strike

Thin Lizzy - The Boys are Back in Town

Tool - Jambi [bizarre time signature, obscenely heavy.]

TV on the Radio - Wolf Like Me

Veruca Salt - Straight [surprisingly badass chickrock]

The Who - The Seeker

Wilco - I'm a Wheel [great great fun!]

Wolf Parade - Shine a Light

The Yardbirds - Heart Full of Soul

Yes - Roundabout

how's about that?

We really need some good ol' Prog rock in these games. GH had very little (Kansas is pretty much the only one that comes to mind) and seeing bands like Dream Theater, Tool, Genesis, and Yes in RB would be the best. Your list seems to have a nice focus on prog, i like :) ! Hell, any songs by the bands i mentioned would be great!

Any set list that includes Rush, King's X, Yes, AND Porcupine Tree gets my vote. Cult of Personality is one that I'm kicking myself for not thinking of earlier, and Tool is a good choice too, although I think a track like Schism is more likely to get in.

Really good list, but I'd prefer something older by Sonic Youth. I'd kill to have Silver Rocket in RB.

I was pretty torn between their new and old stuff. When making the call I thought more of Sister and songs like Teen Age Riot, where the guitars split up the lead and there was lots of repetitive riffing + chaos, which would be hard to do in the game, but Silver Rocket would be perfect!

Maybe this is just me, but I think Way Out Of Here over Shallow. Shallow has that radio-esque catchiness, but its solo doesn't even hold a candle to Way Out Of Here's.

Anything from the Manic Street Preachers' The Holy Bible would be fantastic.
