What are your thoughts on this boxing match? who do u think will win and what are your opinions on the fighters?

I think Hatton is going to destroy mayweather and i think mayweather is too cocky for his own good

Mayweather is cocky because he knows he's good.....

But this is a tough one, Hatton is a great fighter, but my money is on Mayweather much to my disliking...:(

I predict the fight will go the distance with Mayweather winning by unanimous decision.

Hatton ftw for defo

Plus he's a man city fan, comes out to our song "blue moon" and even has man city shorts. Legend!

At a friendly, he was there watching the game, and a section of the crowd were playfully shouting "you fat bastard :p" and "come over here if you think you're hard enough..." haha he even stood up and clapped em...

Well, I don't know much about his skill, but he's always won and I really like him. Come on RICKY!

Hatton is the greatest boxer on the circuit atm. Is it just cos you don't like the idea of a British boxer being best?

Yes, hes chubby before matches. And? Hes a good manchester lad, tis to be expected, but he is a brilliant boxer.

idc about nationality. fact is both of your elite boxers (hatton and calzaghe) are massively overrated. calzaghe is nothing but a shoe shiner (if you know boxing than you know what that means), and hatton is just out of his league. he almost got knocked out by that hispanic dude in the same weight class he vowed to never box in again yet here he is making a massive pay day. his last three fights haven't been any good, and i'm looking forward to mayweather showing him what a real boxer looks like

I'll be shouting "i told you so" on the rooftops when he thrashes your precious Mayweather. You just can't take it that we have better boxers at the moment... Like when we had Lennox Lewis

lmao stfu dumbass, like i said earlier this has nothing to do with nationality. two of my favorite boxers are foreigners (vlad the impaler klitschKO and manny pacquiao), hatton just isn't a great boxer like how he's cut out to be

QFT! It has absolutely nothing to do with nationality and everything to do with Mayweather being the more skilled fighter

Both of them are undefeated so I woulden't call any of them crap or overated. It sure is shaping up to be a good fight. Hatton though does not seem scared or intimidated one bit by Mayweathers talk.

09-24-2007, 10:12 AM
lol jermaine taylor is also somewhat undefeated and he's the most overrated piece of **** to ever walk into that ring. also, of course he isn't going to be intimidated ffs. if he was like "ok wow mayweather is saying some heavy **** i should doubt myself" who the **** is gonna root for him?? no boxer is ever intimidated in public by another boxer, never ever.

tharshmetalUK
09-24-2007, 10:16 AM
Hatton though, has faced some decent opponents.

battle_axe_of_doom
09-24-2007, 10:20 AM
jermaine taylor faced one of the greatest boxers of all time and "beat" him twice. yes hatton beat tszyu but thats the only real opposition he's ever had

mayweather has fought some bigger names than hatton as well and even "beat" another one of boxings great, the golden boy (who would ****ing knock out hatton by the way)

So what you are trying to say is that when u beat one of the greatest fighters of all time, that makes u overated? That does not make one bit of sence.

I'm hoping that my 1,000 post also links in when Hatton beats the shiz out of Mayweather - a "two fingers" to those who don't like me and those who are fanboys of Mayweather....

i have to say im with gh2masterwellalmost on this one. i dont know much about boxing but from seing all the press conferences etc. mayweather seema like an arrogant piece of ****. i hope hatton kicks his ass (and this is from a united fan) i've always really liked him as (unlike mayweather) hes really modest and down-to-earth and doesnt get carried away with himself so Hatton+1

sense***

also thats not what i said. you said hatton has fought decent fighters and he's undefeated hence he can't be overrated. i gave you a perfect example of how you're wrong. jermaine taylor is as ****ty as a champion can be, but he did """""beat""""" hopkins (a "decent" fighter) and he is undefeated. just because he's undefeated and he beat ONE good boxer doesn't mean he's at the top of his class and so on

Well I do know a little bit about boxing, and let me tell you, that's exactly what they do at press conferences they talk sh..t!! they are trying to sell this fight. It's got nothing to do with the fighters. Personally I'm with Hatton on this one, but the reality is to overwhelming to ignore that fact that Mayweather is gona embarrase Ricky Hatton, there are a few boxers that have the speed that Floyd Mayweather has.

I think if Ricky can keep Mayweather pinned or cornered long enough to land some solid punches he may have a chance, he can't afford to give Mayweather all the room he wants.

battle_axe_of_doom
09-25-2007, 09:53 AM
^ look oscar already exploited mayweather's weakness, just jab him until he's stuck on the ropes/the corner and flurry so that you basically steal the round. if hatton does what he always does and follow the guy throw like three punches and clinches then he's gonna get baldomir'd. i've got nothing against hatton (i think he's a cool d00d) or brits, but he's one overrated son of a ***** and he's gonna get embarassed like how you said.

I like Ricky, and I think you lot are taking the piss outta him just cos he's British, but hes a genuinely nice bloke with devoted fans more so then Mayweather. Britain is now the best for boxing with 7 title holders and America is floundering, but Las Vegas will always be Boxing Capital of the World.

But Mayweather won fair and square, he was very good.

Ricky is still a fantastic guy and a brilliant rolemodel for all people, not just boxers, around the world.

wow!! I always knew that Mayweather would win this fight, but never on a KO, also didn't think that Mayweather had the punching power to knock out Hatton, I mean this kid (Hatton) is tough as nails. But I guess that punch after punch will take its toll on even the toughest fighter.

I didn't notice this thread the other day, but I'm pretty surprised anyone on here thought Hatton had a chance. I hate Mayweather, and I'm only a fairly casual boxing fan, but even I could tell Mayweather was definitely going to win. I think most people were fooled by Hatton's record, without realizing most of his wins were meaningless.

Though I too was surprised of the KO, but I guess since Hatton pressed the fight, Mayweather had to respond.

once again you own belts that NO ONE CARES ABOUT. heavyweights are owned by europeons like klitschko and ibragamov and any other german/USSR heavyweight; welterweight champion is floyd mayweather; middleweight is kelly pavlik, featherweight is owned by pacquiao & marquez. fact is i'm sure britian has their fighters, but to say they have the important/better fighters is absurd especially since your "best" fighter just GOT KNOCKED OUT BY AN AMERICAN...****ing dunce

Dude calm down, its just boxing not even the best sport around. Maybe you need a break or something I'm more laid back nowadays usually I would have turned this into a pointless nation vs nation flamewar but right now I'm just astonished that I'm a calm one and not the mental one.

Well done to Mayweather, well done you for predicting he won. But mate just take things less seriously eh?

Does it still cost about 50 dollars to order these fights through pay-per-view, on demand, etc.?

Thats why I never followed boxing all that much. All the good fights were too expensive to see.

I don't like Mayweather because he is an Ali Wannabe, but then again, what boxer doesn't borrow a little from Ali nowadays.

This is why I stick to boxing on HBO, Showtime, and ESPN 2. No names only and you just get to watch boxing.

It's not about 'growing a pair' it's about having some respect and manners. I'm not offended by anything you say, I'm just shocked that you are so illiterate that you have to resort to talking like an uneducated moron.
