Hey All!
Being the good little video game addict that I am, I play while I'm on the treadmill. But I've completed Sims Bustin' Out more times than I care to count.
So... I'm in need of a new game, and I'm in dire need of suggestions. My "treadmill console" is the PS2.
Games I've played and liked:
Harvest Moon series on Game Cube
Sims Bustin' Out
Sims (was ok, but I prefer having the story mode as opposed to straight sandbox)
Roller coaster Tycoon - PC
The Movies - PC
SimCity - PC
Buzz (not good for the treadmill tho)
Games I've played and disliked:
Metropolismania 2
Harvest Moon PS2
Games that I just plain don't like:
First person shooters
Car Racing Games
Whatcha got for me?

By "treadmill games" do you mean "terrible games"? You have the taste of a 10 year old girl.
Barbie's Horse Adventures perhaps?

Actually my daughter is 9. But yes, we like the same games.

Hmm, this'll be tough since most of my PS2 games are action-y and probably not very playable on a treadmill, plus you seem to like a lot of simulation-esque games and those aren't really my forte.
There's Katamari Damacy, which is a strange little game where you basically have to roll this ball around and roll up a bunch of stuff to make it bigger. The synopsis sounds bad but it's pretty fun for a while. I don't think it's got a lot of replay value but lots of people love it. Here's a video of it:
<object width="425" height="355"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/cwhFH75OCDs&hl=en"></param><param name="wmode" value="transparent"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/cwhFH75OCDs&hl=en" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="425" height="355"></embed></object>
I don't remember the controls being too crazy so it's probably playable on a treadmill, but don't quote me on that.
Also, there's a little rhythm game called Gitaroo-Man that I like a lot. There's "guitar-playing" sections where you hit notes with the "O" button and follow the pitch with the analog stick and then parts where you have to press the buttons at a certain time. It's kind of hard to explain but this video (http://youtube.com/watch?v=l8-4K5Q0Zc8) shows what I'm talking about. Might be a bit too intense to concentrate on playing while on the treadmill and it's a bit hard to get the hang of, but I think it's pretty solid.
There's also The Sims 2 on the PS2, which does have a story-mode but I'm not sure how in-depth any of this is since I haven't played it.
I'm not sure any of these are your cup of tea, but I'll try to post some more stuff up later if I think of anything.

Thanks Frosty!
You're right about Gitaroo. I think that might require too much manual dexterity while on the treadmill.
As soon as I started the video for Katamari Damacy, Hubby looked over and said, "Hey, that's the roll-em-up game". Looks like we have a winner. Mindlessly addictive nonsense is perfect for the treadmill.
I had looked at Sims 2 as well. I'll probably pick them both up this weekend!
Thanks a bunch!!

I have to second Katamari Damacy because it's a ridiculously fun game... It compelled me to try to start my own massive ball of stuff.

whoa...you can play videogames and run on a treadmill...
I'd probably be like..
*stops running and flys off of treadmill and gets embedded into wall*
ouch.
...yeah I wouldn't ever do that

I used to watch movies, but most dramas are not conducive to treadmilling (is that a word???). Video games make the time fly by. I usually wind up going over my hour 1/2 because I "just want to do one last thing".

I have three words for you, fellow Bustin' Out addict...
The Sims: Castaway (http://foundthesims.com/)
It's a completely new spin on the little dudes. And it's sweet.

It's a blast...the only thing you have to make sure to do is to save often. Sometimes it's a little too much for the PS2 to handle and it freezes.

I've tried playing Hot Shots Golf on the PSP while on the exercise bike, but either I'm jostling too much to time my impact the right way, or I'm focusing too much on timing my impact the right way that I start to slack off on my pedaling. I'll probably just stick to reading a book or watching a DVD.

Topper--
I tried the DS and PSP on the treadmill. Holding the contoller is MUCH easier than either the DS or PSP. Focusing on those small screens was also a challenge on the treadmill. ;)

^ maybe I can dig out my old GameCube then (don't want to move the PS2 or 360 to where the exercise bike is, and don't want to the move the exercise bike to where the PS2 or 360 are)

Oooh I love Katamari! I've got the one for the PS2, PSP, and 360... compared to the last two, I don't like the PS2 version so much.. seems a bit lacking and its graphics isn't that great, but it's pretty much the same all around. I *think* there might be more levels and replayability with the PSP (Me and My Katamari) and 360 (Beautiful Katamari) katamari games.
I didn't see you mention you have a 360, but the only simulation sorta game that comes to mind that I think you might like is Viva Pinata. You get to collect and breed pinatas in the garden/habitat you create. It's got a bit of a story to it, I think.
--edit---
I got Sims Castaway too for the DS! It's fun figuring out what to do, and it's not too critical on always taking care of all your needs constantly so that's good. Playing maybe a few hours a day, I finished that game in a few weeks if I remember correctly.. o_<
Another similar game to Castaway that I REALLY LOVE is Lost In Blue and Lost In Blue 2 (both for DS). That game will definitely last you a loong time but sometimes requires a bit more mental focus or else before you'll know it you're starving and extremely exhausted with no shelter in sight and your partner's morale drops down (yes, you'll be on the island with one other person that you have to take care of). But it's still a very good simulation game, and there are multiple endings too. You get to cook, build furniture, start campfires, hunting, ..fishing!
Go here to watch media footage of Lost In Blue (http://www.konami-data.com/officialsites/lostinblue/media.html)
Don't pay attention to the main section of the page, both the game and its sequel have been out a while now.

Hey Moshun!
Looks like I need those too!!! I won't be able to do 'em on the treamill tho. The only game I have for the 360 is RB. I think I'll be picking up Viva Pinata fairly soon. But the 360 goes no where near my treadmill and my ridiculous amount of water bottles I have stacked next to it! :D

If you really want a workout game while you're on the treadmill, the Wii is the way to go. I love playing Rayman: Raving Rabbids, that sorta has a story but not so much... The story mode lets you pick among different mini games (ranging from rhythm dancing, shooting, precision, stamina games, etc) and as you progress, the games get a bit harder and new games unlock. It's pretty fun. Seriously, some of these games have you pumping your arms like crazy for a loong time.. and you're sweating and your arms are burning.. wishing the game will get over soon. xD Or maybe that's just me haha

I read the topic and my mind immediately went to MMORPGs.
Different use of the word 'treadmill', I suppose. ;)

XBL arcade games might be good too.. a rhythm game like Boom Boom Rocket.. Track & Field requires a lot of repetitive movement..
