Yeah, some of these are pretty weird and others could kill one's vocal cords...Well anyway, here's my list of songs I'd love to see in Rock Band that will likely never appear on it:

"The New National Anthem"-STRATA (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NvX04AXdNuY)
"The Dotted Line..."-STRATA (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8CjZY1QBKpU)
"Judith"-A Perfect Circle [I suppose you'd need to use the clean edit that says "Thank your God" as not to offend and keep the Teen rating, yeah?] (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=23eZMdixAuk)
"The Noose"-A Perfect Circle (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cIP0DKRQhL0)
"Dig up Her Bones"-Misfits (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ook3UxEp53c)

"Turncoat"-Anti-Flag (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Aa5KJ5C-QP8)
"Planet of the Apes"-Mindless Self Indulgence (I used the live video for this so you can better hear the guitar part with Steve Righ? since Jimmy stops singing and a lot of the vocals are cut out for censorship, the actual recording has more vocals to it and they're louder than the guitar riff at that part) (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Af2uynBsZOE)
"Shut me Up"-Mindless Self Indulgence (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qIYhbRiuVK0)

Good list. My faves out of there are 36crazyfists, lostprophets, Placebo, Green Jelly, and Primus. All good picks for those bands. Well, except for Mr. Krinkle. I dunno about that. I think that "DMV" would be a better pick, as would "Laquerhead" (along with about 20 others - I'd REALLY love to do "Southbound Pachyderm"!!).

edit: Oh yeah. Deftones. gotta' love them. One of the few good things to come out of Sacramento. :D

"Molly"-Mindless Self Indulgence [not likely to make it, because there's no way you could make noises that perfectly match those of Jimmy Urine]

oh please...Mike Patton has been doing more vocally complex things than that for YEARS.

I approve this thread.

And a big 'hell yes' to the following:

"Tommy the Cat"-Primus
"Lovesong"-The Cure
"Change (In the House of Flies)"-Deftones
"My Own Summer"-Deftones
"Loco"-Coal Chamber
"Just Like Heaven"-The Cure
"Fell on Black Days"-Soundgarden
Any and all Placebo!

Throw in "Every You and Every Me" - Placebo and "Passenger"- Deftones (feat. zomg Maynard) and I won't troll your post and trash on MCR, AFI and Taking Back Sunday :D

Thanks. I can see why "Mr. Krinkle" wouldn't work, but eh-it's a wishlist of the impossible for reasons.:p

"Laquerhead" would be cool. Yeah, that's it, I don't know how exactly 'working'...works out here, so I've just been going by what I would love to play and that's it, lol.

Tee-hee. Believe it or not, I don't care, but I actually thought about putting "every you and Every me" on the list but decided that I prefer "Special K". Hell, I'd even like to see "Black Eyed" or "Taste in Men". "Passenger" FTW. It would be awesome (IMO) if they released White Pony as DLC one day. Same thing with a Placebo album, I just can't decide on which one.

Things RB could really use to take the places of the ridiculous songs that were seen on GH2:
-"Revolution #9" played backwards
-A heavy metal version of "Chocolate Rain" only because it's bound to happen

C'mon, they had "Trogdor" for ****'s sake!

I'd actually like to see those.. I hate when people (*coughcoughbattle_axe_of_doomcoughcough*) say stuff like "**** band" or "sucks." Just say "I personally don't like them" or something less harsh or else leave that part alone.

Everyone says something along the lines of, "**** band." or, "I hate them so ****ing much, any and all of their fans should die!" when something they don't like is mentioned. It's nothing new and I don't mind it, so yeah.

Rule of my topic:

No *****ing (though travmeatwad wasn't getting rude, just teaching the other guy e-mannerz from the 9th level of Hell) because of what other posters say, it's my list and I haven't been offended. battle_axe_of_doom liked some of my choices anyway. :)

lol.

Nice to know somebody would actually like to see that tiny section of the list on RB though.

Oh and if anyone looks at the poll results, no complaining about the "I hope you die, crappy music lover" option. It's there as a joke and it's the only option that lets you say you hate the list anyway. I came prepared for that reaction to begin with!

Awww, that's touching. I can feel the fuzziness deep inside.

I can see where you were coming from with the "**** band" comments though.

Do you think (I know, it was an over-played song on the radio but I liked it) "Jerry Was a Racecar Driver" or "My Name is Mud" would work for Rock Band? I just assumed "Mr. Krinkle" wouldn't because of the length and Claypool's double bass. If it's an upright base or something, sorry for not knowing the name, but people fight over which it is all the time so I just say double for no reason

battle_axe_of_doom
09-27-2007, 11:59 AM
yeah its an upright bass. he uses the little violin bow thing **** on it which is rare in a primus track. and jerry was a racecar driver would own as well anything off of the frizzle fry album. frizzle fry i would say is easily their most guitar driven album with some great moments from ler and of course les rulez as well as a strong performance from herb. frizzle fry for DLC ftw

According to Wiki, Danny Carey was also in Green Jelly.

"Danny Carey from Tool was a member of Green Jell˙ for five years, and played drums on the album Cereal Killer. He is also featured in the video for "Electric Harley House (Of Love)", among others."

You are now my hero! Strata pwns! I want to see their entire self-titled album as DLC if possible. And "The Dotted Line" and "New National Anthem" are the best choices from The End of the World.

As for the rest of the list, I really don't care. I didn't say any bands I really know or like too much. I'll just assume they're all decent songs.

Yeah, their self-titled would be nice DLC.

I'm thinking of updating my list again, there's more Wednesday 13 I'd like to see at some point. Wish I could find that 'album DLC idea' topic or whatever again, post one of those albums in it (along with the STRATA one)

You know, as far as Primus songs go, Tommy the Cat would be a pretty solid choice for Rock Band, I think.
