Yeah, except for the most important bit about it only being available in Europe for the PS2.

Yup it was announced for European release, it has not been announced whether or not it will be available for PS2 here in the states yet.

Yeah, but can't we probably assume a US release will happen, though? I mean, it's not like HMX, MTV, or EA is located in Europe. There's really no reason for Europe to get something special while the US does not.

They have no reason to not make a ton of money from sales of the PS2 version in the US. I don't think there would be any point in making a version for the PS2 and just releasing it in Europe when the profits would be greater in the US. I'm sure it'll arrive everywhere eventually.

MTV Games and Electronic Arts to bring their highly anticipated rhythm game to the PS2, announce 10 more tracks including Stones, Clash, NIN.

LEIPZIG, Germany--Previously confirmed for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, Harmonix announced today that Rock Band will be coming to the venerable PlayStation 2 platform. The PS2 version of the game will feature "many" of the modes of the 360 and PS3 games, and will also incorporate some all-new gameplay elements.

European versions of Rock Band will also be getting localised content for the different countries in the region, both downloadable and on-disc.


I know this is old news but I just heard about it today.
Are there any links to support this European market only release?

I thought this has been discussed a million times already.

Yes, the announcement was made in Europe about a Ps2 version, but I thought it was decided that it meant there's a Ps2 coming, but not necessarily just in Europe.

It's no wonder I missed it. Look at the title of this topic. I only found this one because someone linked to it from another one which had a more meaningful topic title.

I'm reading that announcement the same way. Even though it was mentioned in a European announcement, it didn't officially rule out an American release but did come across as a release in 2008.
