I think this is the third time I've done this poll... I've try to space it out by about a month I think.

Previous songs that people have claimed they requested:
-El Scorcho
-crushcrushcrush

However, El Scorcho was so early in the game hard to say, and crushcrushcrush was promotional. Still, good to see there's at least correlation.

I'm pretty sure also that "My Best Friend's Journal" was requested in one of those critic's "25 songs that need to be in RB" from a third party site, although toward the bottom.

Have you requested either via "Request a Song" or in the forum that has been featured in Rock Band? If so, what song?

I didn't outright request it, but one time I was listening to "Roam" on my iPod and thought "they should put this in Rock Band". A few days later, I discovered that "Roam" was indeed available as DLC, though it was a while before I finally got it.

I haven't bothered, just because the song I'd want absolute most probably won't ever come to Rock Band. I'm fairly happy with what comes out anyway.

I requested "Plush" by STP.

No soup yet, but I continue to hold out hope since they were awesome enough to bring "Sex Type Thing" out. :)

I sorta feel the same way... I requested "Stupid Girl" by Garbage but "Why Do You Love Me?" is probably a better song for RB on everything except vocals. Still, holding out hope.

Really, the request form and forums are just there for the devs to get an idea of what the online community wants in the way of genres, artists, etc. No one song gets requested enough for them to jump up and get it done. It's more for research then outright requests. HMX aren't a radio station.

I'm sure Ten Speed was requested at one time or another in the old Coheed thread. (It was massive and it would be impossible to not have that been voted at least once.)

I put in requests for both El Scorcho and Siva way back before the game came out with the "5 songs" form.

Of course I don't think the requests have actually had any influence. In fact, when I look at the ultimate setlist forum, I hope they have zero influence on the DLC development.

Really, the request form and forums are just there for the devs to get an idea of what the online community wants in the way of genres, artists, etc. No one song gets requested enough for them to jump up and get it done. It's more for research then outright requests. HMX aren't a radio station.

The radio station comment aside, what makes you think they aren't or shouldn't be interested in specific songs? Master of Puppets, for instance, has been requested so many times it makes my head swim. Paranoid Android by Radiohead and Plug in Baby by Muse also come to mind, or maybe Don't Stop Believing by Journey.

As far as what HMX's goals are, they claim to respond to the requests from the community, and advertise the fact that they do respond--not that they don't. With that advertising in mind, I'm interested in whether they actually stay true to the impression they give.

Nice! Garbage rocks IMO. I've liked them for a long time (ever since their debut album I guess). When I first saw the song list for RB way back when. I was most excited to see that Garbage and NIN had songs on it. They were two bands I never thought I'd see in a game like this and amazingly they have both had DLC as well!

I would buy any Garbage DLC that comes out. I was pretty pumped when they brought out "Why Do You Love Me?" and I would be just as excited to see "Stupid Girl" released. Although I would have to agree that WDYLM makes for a better RB song.

That was one of the reasons I requested "Plush" (other than the fact it totally rocks) is because I think it would be a great RB song especially for the singer.

I guess we'll just have to keep holding out hope. The one good sign is that both Garbage and STP have had DLC already so it seems that there is a good chance that we could see more down the road. Keep those fingers crossed!

The awesomeness of the songs I have requests is obviously way beyond the comprehension of HMX... to put it plainly... They just arnt ready for all the Jamtastic madness that my requests have to offer.

I'd like to point out where it's been said that it takes months for a DLC song to go from idea to in-game. Therefore, we should just now be seeing people's early ideas from when the game first came out.

So, take that logically, and you'll realize that even if they've already started working on any of the songs requested through the "Request Song" link or the Ultimate Setlist forum, you probably won't see them released for several more months.

I am aware of that, but Zero was also on the leaked list. Other songs, however, were not on the leaked list and there's some indication they were worked on after the release of the game. Wasn't the ostensible reason Still Alive was the only song one week was because the audio team had been worked too hard making new songs? I'm thinking probably Boston and Judas Priest weren't finished in November. Maybe not though.

I'm sorry, but everything you just said (with the exception of the reason HMX gave us for Still Alive) was pure speculation and nothing more than random guessing. You can't use that as an argument :p

In one of my many "Give us KISS" threads, I asked for Calling Dr. Love quite a few times. Lo, and behold, I now have it!

And I use the Request A Song feature daily for Rock And Roll All Nite. Hopefully they'll get sick of me and either ban me or appease me :D

Way back in may I requested a bunch of New Pornographers songs (and a dozen other groups I can't remember at the moment). My jaw dropped when they were announced as not just in the game, but in the Main Setlist!

I do wish they'd gone with Use It or Slow Descent into Alcoholism (such an exciting song). . .

Okay, actually, you're right. But then my poll doesn't ask "Did your request make HMX release a song?" It would be fallacious to say that correlation = causation, and that's not what I'm going here. But right now I'm interested in if there's even correlation between what people request and what HMX puts out.
