I'd like to hear suggestions for the song that seems like it was almost created to one day be in Rock Band. The song would of course have to have consistently interesting and active vocals, bass (or rhythm) guitar, lead guitar, and drums. Of all the songs I can think of, usually three of the parts will seem great but the fourth will be a little lackluster.
So any suggestions for that one song that is amazing all around?

I'd definitely have to go with Meshuggah's "New Millennium Cyanide Christ"; the music video for the song seems like it could be perfectly adapted to the game:

But when I think of Rock Band, I think of songs that would be great for a band to play. I think of a song that would be energetic for everybody and is fairly well known. I like to go to bars and clubs to see local cover bands play and there's always one song that picks people up and gets people going in the band and the crowd. It might not end up being the most difficult song in the game but it would definitely be an extremely fun song. Nirvana- Smells Like Teen Spirit.
I think Rock Band needs to go with songs that would be great for an entire band to play as well as familiarity especially with the singing aspect of the game. I'm not saying they should make every song a chart-topper and not include some great songs that might not have had much publicity or never released as a single, but this is a game for a band and singing is a part of it. I think they should have at least 3/4 of their songs be huge, well-known, rock-out type hit songs.

The perfect rockband song.....I would have to say either Queen - Bohemian Rhapsody or Led Zeppelin - Stairway To Heaven.
Queen - Bohemian Rhapsody just because of the fun factor, who wouldn't want to see their friends sing "Scaramouch, scaramouch will you do the fandango" in a high pitched voice, also Brian May was one of the most inspirational guitarists of the 70's, playing his solo would be pretty sweet. Alot of piano though, maybe next Rockband if they add a keyboard.
Led Zeppelin - Stairway To Heaven maybe be the perfect song for rockband. I know its cliche and some what generic, but who wouldn't want to play it? Jimmy Page, Robert Plant, and John Bonham are in a short list of the greatest guitarists, singers, and drummers (respectively) of all times!!! Yeah maybe its old and played out, but I don't think anyone would disagree that it would be just sick from every angle (vocals, guitar, drums) that Rockband will provide. If it doesn't make the cut, its either because they couldn't get the rights to the song, or someone just lost their damn mind!!

The Cars - My Best Friend's Girl
It's not the most extreme song, but the drum guitar and vocal parts are all pretty fun with occasional solos. This song just kicks ass, I defy anyone to not want to play it.

I think that these songs should be on Rockband. And they go As follows: "caress of steel" by Rush, "machine gun" by Band of the Gypsies, "something about the weather" stevie ray vaughan, "stuntman" 24-7 spyz, "mean street" van halen, "sweet emotion" aerosmith, "beneath the wheel" DRI, "soul craft" bad brains, and " Eleven" Primus. I thought that would do for now and will suggest more at a later time.

It may not be perfect, but Switchfoot's song "Awakening" seems like it was made for the game; a nice mix of everything, and as a bonus, a music video that's hysterical.

That video is hilarious. What a crazy bunch of metal dudes. People sure do like their metal. Something different would be nice though.

Actually, I think it should be stated the other way around. What one song gives Rock Band a reason to be made? There is only one song I could think of that fits.
Born To Be Wild by Steppenwolf.

Wow, I've never really heard much of theirs except the contents of Nothing. This song is awesome! Simple yet amazingly catchy. I'd be very happy if this appeared in the game. It's heavy yet allows each of the band members part to be heard incredibly clearly. Bloody good choice!

Welcome To The Jungle -Guns N' Roses
I really cant think of anything that would be better than playing that intro on guitar, not to mention the rest of the song...the other two instruments are solid in the song
finally, who wouldnt love to try to sing along to this song??

Rock 'N Roll Lifestyle by Cake is a fun one with fairly balanced instrumentation and lyrics, but by content, title, music, and overall perfection I'd pick.
Long Live Rock - The Who
Great song, and come on the title alone says it all. :)
