Starting to get quiet on these boards. I think that maybe it may be time for some new news about the songs, pricing or release date. We havn't heard and REAL news since the 7th or so of this month. Hopefully everything is going well in the making and testing with the game.
 Hopefully there is no delay!!!

Oh god, not this again...chill bro. Everyone's just busy with the tour. There will NOT be a delay. Trust me. Once Sean gets back everyone once in a while, you can expect some new songs and stuff.

I bet we'll hear something around the release of the GH3 demo October 9th.

well GHII as a whole retail game goes gold soon (hard to believe), so we'll probably be hearing alot of news from both worlds over the next couple of weeks

The wait isn't killing me that badly. I rent a PS3 game every week (Skate, Stranglehold, Lair, Stuntman, a hockey or basketball game.) Plus Metalocalypse Season 1 comes out on DVD next week. I have things to keep me occupied.
Plus I'm getting GH 3 as well so, that chops my supposed wait time down to about a month for a rhythm game.
Together as a group, we can pull through this. :D

Now with this in mind, how many of you would commit suicide if Harmonix split, and ended the project?

Not sure what I would do about that. I do know I still would'nt buy a hacked up, stupid battle mode havin imitation from..pfft..Activision.

This is pretty routine for this board. Every time there has been a lack of new details, posting slows down.
This is combined with the fact that there are far fewer "unknowns" about the game than months ago... meaning fewer questions and inquiries about the game.
Edit: Not to get all grammar school on anyone, but the topic title was "to quiet"... if the word "to" can be replaced by "very" or "exceptionally" it is spelled "too" (don't worry, I fixed it ;) )

Calm before the (riders on the) storm. I've been trying to tell you people they learned their lesson from GH and are saving the biggest guns for last.

I'm going to say that we should most likely expect some more really good news by the first week of October. Some gaming magazines should have some information I would think for their November issues. (For example how EGM has promised big news for Rock Band in their next issue)

Yea, we do get the reviews and impressions from the folks who have been going to the tour on the weekends...that generates a little commotion, but it's the same stuff pretty much...

Know how you feel. My passion for the game was drained out after I did a thread like this, and even more so when I was flamed on it. Then, EU release dropping back, plus the impending Halo 3, just stopped caring for the game. Still interested by drums, but its a shame anyway.
Just remember that Halo 3's release date was announced by Bungie before 2007. Good to know one developer has their heads screwed on - I'm sure HMX will release a brilliant game, but I just wish(ed, past tense) they could do it a bit sooner.
Still, the drums look good... Now, lemme just perfect Heart Shaped Box on my guitar XD

Oh noes! I have a short attention span too! I'm so worried about a game that doesn't doesn't come out until November that I'm going to DIE if I don't get any information NOW!
And then in two weeks I'm going to complain again because you released everything now...

How about a definite release date for them to stick to, that was decided last year? No. (Moves away Rock Band teddy and cuddles Master Chief teddy) :D:D:D

Sure, they could have set and announced a definitive release date last year. (I'm not sure why though, since the game's unveiling wasn't even made until April of this year.) But when developers do that "release date 8 or 9 months ahead of time" announcement, the most it can do is hurt them. Just look at what happened with GTA IV. Development times can be very unpredictable, especially in games that are breaking new territory. I'm glad that the Halo games are solid and predictable enough that they can plan ahead to an exact date, but other games go through rigorous development where new issues present themselves on a day-to-day basis. I'm sure fixing that HDTV lag turned out to be a more extensive process than they had originally anticipated.
Factor in that Harmonix, who has never done hardware before with video games, has to mass produce enough guitar, drum, and mic units unique for each of the two versions of the game, and you should realize why they are very careful not to set a date that they might not be able to stick to. Better to have a late and accurate release date than announce a date and maybe have it be delayed. Also better to have late and accurate pricing than announcing a price and realizing later that they ran into unexpected costs, leading them to tack on $10 or $20 more to fit the expected profit margin. Delays and price changes only bring bad publicity. The worst thing Rock Band could possibly have going for it at this stage is bad publicity.

I'll go ahead and make the Captain Obvious prediction:
If we don't know all there is to know by October 28th, we'll have some big news around that time. Just a hunch... :p

Bad publicity would be better than no publicity, like now. Me and one of my mates (joetaylor is his forum name on here) actually have a vague idea about the game, compared to my other mates who are like "that gh3 rip-off with drums right?".
And Halo destroys the pants off a game with plastic instruments. Wrong forum to say it in, but its the best console game around (well, up there with Ico, the Zelda Series etc.)

Yes, we all know that the 2837th FPS is completely superior to the brand new music franchise breaking new territory. Makes sense to me.
