I'm sure it's probably been mentioned, but jic:

WTF is up with the dongle? I thought these things were going to be Bluetooth?
Also, check the owner's manual.

****'s gonna hit the fan with this one. Did you see the confidentiality agreement? Also, if you read through these, I'm sure you can see why it takes so long to get it to different territories. Disappointing about the USB plug, but not that big a deal

I'm curious about what's going on with the manual.
Even though the paperwork is clearly for the PS3, nowhere does the manual clearly specify that. In fact, it's rather vague about plugging the dongle 'into your console' and nowhere in the fine print legalese is there word one about tm and c Sony, or PS3 is a registered tm, etc.
The way it's written, it could apply to either (or both). Here's hoping someone from HMX will shed some light on it.

Hmm something strange about that.. PS3 uses blue-tooth not standard wireless which that manual seems to suggest and there is no mention that it is for PS3 other than the last page saying PS3 Controller, the manual setup looks like the way the PS2 version would work there are wireless GH controllers that work the same way.. I dunno hopefully HMX can clear this up because having some dongle hanging from a USB port doesn't appeal to me at all.

The wireless module part number is: J2.4GMOAX. I did a google search, but nothing came up. It's definitely 2.4GHz, but I'm not 100% positive it's bluetooth (and I can think of reasons why it wouldn't be). If anyone digs any information up on this, it would be helpful.

Why the heck is everyone so upset about a dongle that PLUGS INTO THE SYSTEM AND SITS ON A SHELF?

I didn't notice that until I read the manual, for some reason I got the impression from other people's reactions that it must plug into the guitar. It plugs into the console so I really don't see what the problem is. Very odd.

Because they were expecting it to use what was already built into the PS3?

I realize this is all over the internet already on a dozen different message boards.
However, out of respect I am going to attempt to honor the wishes of Harmonix for privacy as stated in their confidentiality request.
Kind Regards.
