Grab selected Rock Band tracks for only 80 points each

MTV Games and Harmonix have teamed up with McDonald’s to drop the price on select Rock Band tracks in the United States and Canada. Each week until June 1st, you can grab two new tracks for 80 points each. To help you budget your time and money, here is the schedule of tracks:

5/6/08-5/12/08 :
Crushcrushcrush - Paramore
Rock 'n Roll Band - Boston

5/13/08-5/19/08 :
Shockwave - Black Tide
Sugar Magnolia - Grateful Dead

5/20/08-5/26/08:
We Care A Lot - Faith No More

Gimme Three Steps - Lynyrd Skynyrd
Dirty Little Secret - All-American Rejects

The lower price will start tomorrow at 0200 PT. But I wanted to give everyone a heads up as soon as I found out about this promotion.

Wow, that's great! I was actually just about to buy Shockwave and felt stupid for missing the time frame where it was just a dollar, but now it's back again.

Unfortunately for the PS3 users it seems thats the case, especially since it's posted by Xbox officials and doesn't mention anything about PS3. Then again it might be for PS3 too and Microsoft doesn't want them to know to make the PS3 look bad.

Hopefully this'll allow for some more people online to have some pretty good DLC. Or to just get DLC in general.

Yah. I wish more people had DLC. Right now I only play with 1 of my friends on XBL since I have all the DLC, and he's the only one I know with all the DLC aswell.

I'm actually going to miss the first week's worth of discounts, but that's okay because I already have those two! :)

As for the rest, I have none of them, so there's a bunch of DLC I'll be getting on the cheap! :D
None of them I especially wanted, except maybe Shockwave, but for the price, I'm gonna grab 'em all.

Well that explains the thread about the person who took the McDonald's survey. This is an awsome deal, I can finally get some great songs for a great price. The weird part is that I already have exactly only one song from each week. Looks like I know what I will be buying each week!

Honestly, I'm not sure I'd buy Cherry Bomb even at 80 points. Whenever I listen to it, the lyrics make it sound so goofy. I could never sing it as I'd end up just laughing at it. I'm pretty open minded when it comes to music too.

I do agree, though, that the song needs a sales boost. I wonder if it'll always be the worst seller?

That's exactly why I bought it! :D I actually used to hate it, but then in a slow DLC week I went back and listened to it a few times and the chart grew on me. It's nothing amazing, but it's a fun low level track for all my friends who don't really know how to play Rock Band.

I agree...great new for all those that are frustrated by the lack of players with DLC on Xbox Live. Hopefully those cheapskates will get some tracks. :-P
