Hi all, I'm in need of a new pedal, but I don't know which one to choose!! I would preferably like one with a beater, as I play drums (and have been for 9 years) and can't play without it. I'm leaning towards the omega, but I'm seeing all of these complaints about how the poron beater wears out.. I can just use a practice pad with it, right? Or does that ruin the sensitivity of the sensor?
Destroyer / Rock Pedal - I've seen people are having problems with the proximity sensor of the rock pedal when using a beater, so that's a no-go. Destroyer - I don't think i've seen anyone using a beater with it

I've had my Omega pedal for a month now, I play drums for 1-3 hours every day, and I'm still on my first foam pad and it isn't even showing much wear.
I was concerned about wearing through those pads myself before I got it, but now it's not even an issue for me.
So far I've got nothing bad to report about my pedal. I love it.

Or does that ruin the sensitivity of the sensor?I've been using the pedal 1-2 hours a night for the past few months and have zero wear. I also don't stomp as hard as possible on it and I have it correctly centered to hit the metal loop. The Omega is a Pearl powershifter p120 that has been adjusted to strike down (instead of a drum). It can be adjusted back to normal operation (if you have a practice pad) and the switch will still work.
Also note that you can buy one of these switches (or magnetic alarm sensors) and mod a drum pedal that you are familiar with. Since you've been drumming for so long you probably already know what pedal you like.
