usb extensions for drum kit (?)

I just have a general question:

Can a 6' USB extension be used on the drum kit for Rock Band?

We want to get the drummer farther away from the tv so the guitar and bass can concentrate better on their music.

6' is fine. If you use any longer with built in repeater will just add lag.

one thing i noticed is that you CAN us a USB extension on the HUB : so u can have all the cords near you, but away from the XB//PS near tv, making it look nicer.
