I just posted on the other thread about your pedal that I bought from you guys. I got the http://www.pedalmetals.com/?page_id=3&product_id=4
and HIGHLY recommend it to everyone for every reason.
I am a 100% satisfied customer with this pedal. I also mentioned my dislike for the "Mega" pedal I think it's called. Not impressed at all and am very disapointed with their customer service. They sent me the foot pedal, but forgot to include the plastic shims that go around the hinge pin to accomidate the #2 pedal with the smaller pin. The hole they drilled was for the #1 pedal and way to big for the small pin. Anyway, I've been waiting about 6 to 8 weeks and still don't have the damn little plastic pieces. I've called them, emailed them etc but nothing yet.
So anyway, yes the Petalmetal is the sh*t hands down for this type of pedal mod. Feels great and works flawlessly. Love it very much!! Highly recommend to anyone looking into this sort of mod.;):)

serpentd, what other mods are available for rockband?
Dude, your joking right? I mean your on these boards as much if not more then myself bro. If your serious I will be happy to give you a list of what I know about and what I have personally tried and stuck with.
Sorry, that just seems like an odd question for you to ask me I guess. I mean with you being pretty well known on the forum and such. But if you want help, I will do my best for you.;):)

I bought the billet plate with the hinge from amazon and am very satisfied with it. Like the video says u have to give it some elbow grease when screwing it in but its definately worth it once complete. Pedal feels better under my foot and im not at all worried about it breaking when friends are over stomping on it! ^^
Great product.

No, I'm not joking. I took a look at the pedal metal site and liked what I saw. I just finished returning my last bundle to best buy because of a snapped pedal.
I'd appreciate the list of what mods you know about. I am on the boards a lot, but haven't gone through all the reviews and countless posts. After reading your initial post in this thread I determined that you would recommend other mods.
I didn't know I was well known on the forums. Thanks in advance for the list. :)
OK, cool man. Well lets start with the basics and go from there. First of all, did you get another bundle from Best Buy when you returned yours? I'm sure you did because I went through Best Buy as well. I've returned uuuuhh, I think 6 or 7 bundles.
Anyway, I will need to know what type of drums you have now, (QM, EL, SL). Let me know if you need help finding the model # for your kit. After I know what type of drums you have, I can help you go from there. The # is on the bottom of the drums, but can be in different locations depending on your set. So check it out and see if you find anything.
Alright, lets start with the most important...the pedal. I have tried them ALL. And the one I listed at the beginning of this post is the very best hands down if you go this route. Here is the one I'm talking about. http://www.pedalmetals.com/?page_id=3&product_id=4
The cool thing with this pedal re-enforcement is that it eliminates the hinge pin entirely. It uses an extremely durable piece of thin plastic that will never break. Also, you don't have to wait for you pedal to break to use this. I put mine on a brand new pedal from the get go. Bottom line is you will not break the pedal with this at all. I have heard of a few of the base parts of the pedal cracking which this doesn't address, but it's pretty rare and not really an issue.
A few questions for you though. First, do you have a budget you want to stay with, and how serious are you about the whole drum thing with Rock Band? I ask this because the other alternative to a pedal is going with a real drum pedal like the Omega, Rock Pedal or Destroyer. These are in the ball park of $75 bucks or so plus shipping. I would recommend the Rock Pedal which happens to be the cheapest of the three, but has the versatility you want and other things I can explain if you want to go this route.
These pedals obviously will NEVER break and make your drumming experience 100 times better which will result in better game play and higher scores. Plus they are much easier to use then the RB pedal. But they aren't cheap. So that's why I ask your commitment to the drums. Me being a real drummer for 25 years, I didn't hesitate and got a real pedal.
Anyway, lets start from there and then after I know what type of drums you have, I will explain your options to make your set more reliable all around. Talk to you soon bro. I think I'm heading to bed soon, so I will keep an eye out for your reply tomorrow. Cool. Talk to you then bro. Later.;):)
PS. As far you being known on the forum, I think it's your name and your avatars that you have used that just stick in my head. Not sure. But I always come across your posts and you happen to be one of the cool headed people here and that says a lot. So that's why I said that.;)

I bought the "Pedal Metal Billet with Hinge", and I liked the look of it, and I liked the feel of the "hinge" better than the pin from the stock pedal...but my hinge broke after 3-4 weeks, forcing me to stick the pin back into the pedal.
Hinge problems aside, it's a decent product that does in fact reinforce the stock pedal, nothing more, nothing less. It doesn't improve feel or anything else of that nature. I'd recommend not paying the extra money for the models that come with the hinge.
I've since bought an Omega pedal and love it.

Dude, thanks for the info on the hinge problem. I didn't have enough hours on it to notice any issues. I went Omega as well. Killer pedal for sure.:)

Yeah, my hinge broke from rubbing against the heel plate. There's the potential for it to rub against the foot plate or the heel plate. It seemed to be clear of the foot plate and had very little rubbing there, but it rubbed the heel plate until it snapped. I could see where they had sorta filed or sanded the edge of each plate to give it a bit more clearance from the hinge piece, but apparently the heel plate didn't have enough clearance, nor did I have the tools to file the edge any more than it was.

We've got a review of the Billet Pedal Metal w/ hinge at RockBandMods.net (http://www.rockbandmods.net/drums/pedal-metal-rock-band-reinforcement-plate). Overall, a great way to fix or reinforce the Rock Band drum pedal.

Uhhh, I don't know if I bought yours or an imitation since it's not listed on your site, but off Ebay I got the "Pedal Metal Carbon" which is just carbon instead of metal and applied it to my unbroken pedal because I could start to feel it bend pretty bad (enough for me to be scared it might break) when I reached Hard level drumming.
So far, I love it! Cost me $30, which isn't cheap but not too expensive either, it looks great, has had no negative effects, and has done it's job of keeping my pedal from breaking. I can play with my friends now with out the fear of one of them stomping it in half! :D

I purchased your original diamond plate without the hinge from eBay. Been installed since last December (installation was a breeze BTW) and never a problem since, even though the pedal has been through a ton of expert play.
IMHO, any of your reinforcements is a must-have if you can live with the stock pedal, unless of course you enjoy the RMA process. $15 is a drop in the bucket to avoid that hassle.

Where can I find the Rock and destroyer kicks? And how do they connect with the RB drum kit? Sorry about the questions... any links would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
I bought the basic diamond pedal way back in December, and it's worked great. I didn't even screw it because I was afraid of doing more damage, so I taped it down. I definitely love this thing and wouldn't feel comfortable playing without it.

I have the "Billet w/ Hinge" version and it is absolutely brilliant!!!
I bought it to put on my pedal before I broke it. Since I am in Australia and therefore do not have the ability to RMA my equipment I decided to play it safe and try to prevent the almost inevitable failure of the pedal.
Since I installed it I haven't looked back and now have no worries at all about damaging my pedal.
I highly recommend the product.
Cheers,

Just wanted to say my billet pedal with hinge arrive this morning in the post. Only took a week to reach the UK so not to shabby at all! Just need to wait til a week tomorrow for the game:D Bought the pedal as a preventionary mesure rather than anything else. Don't know if I'll whack it on straight away but it'll be there should I need it!

I put mine on straight away. Better safe than sorry was my theory. Plus they look cool! :D
