Yeah sure.

The Nyko Fan, I left the part open where the power supply is so cooler air could get in:

The Power Supply, It's 12V and the casing looks really bad. But it works great and doesn't burn the fans ( I still suggest getting a lower volt powersupply if you can):

Works extremely well and won't harm your system. (Just make sure if you do something similar to cut the fans off before you cut off the system. Vice versa when turning on.)

Copied from the other thread. As said before, It works extremely well and my system doesn't even feel like it has been turned on after hours of gaming. I'd be more than happy to write a guy or even make a video on how to do this.

Cool, thanks. If anyone else has any tips on how to keep your system cool, please post. I simply bought an Antec notebook cooler and I set my 360 ontop of it. Then I stopped cuz I figured my room was cool enough, guess not.

I have heard of people using notebook coolers, but it's best to have a lot of air being pulled out of it. Once you have something pulling that air out you'll notice a HUGE difference in heat. Just make sure you have it hooked to an EXTERNAL power supply and not running off the 360. It should be fine then.

Thats my only tip. Thats how my PS2 broke, thats how my 360 broke, taking it everywhere I went. It recently got fixed, and even if I had to put a new TV in I would not touch the 360 ever again.

Once, I wanted it on its side, then it went RoD again. I got annoyed, so I decided right I'll put it back up so that it takes less space and ring MS again later. It worked again. Don't know how, it just did. Never moved since.

Has anyone opened up their machine? I'm just curious if anyone has tried to retro-fit a new fan or water solution inside of these bad boys. I've heard some nice ways of taking care of it, but I don't recommend since we're all still under warranty.

It is against my nature not to open up my electronics, but the bloody things have such a bad reputation it would be crazy to void the warranty.

If you want to see some of the crazy modifications people have done to their 360's, check out xboxscene.com.... everything from water-cooling mods to custom cases/paint jobs and LED setups. Some folks have gotten very creative with their 360 hardware.

If I had the cash I'd mod one myself for fun, probably add a custom firmware for playing back up games too. I hate after having a game for years and it's too messed up to play =\. Of course I wouldn't be able to play Live unless I was up to date on the CFW for the 360, But I probably won't use my real live account for it. probably just use it offline.

Dude, I've lived on Xbox-Scene for years. When I used to work for MS, I used info from Xbox-Scene and I'd tell my boss about stuff before he'd heard about it. He'd always tell me not to tell people about it until I had it officially through him. It made my life a lot of fun.

Well I never said I made it did I? It's from somebody on xbox-scene.com. Also forgot to mention it has its own little cooling system thing built into the outside (shell) of it.

I never said you did bro, and I never assumed you did either. Considering yours is a first gen and not modded in any way. It'd be screwed if it was set up like that, that system more than likely has a lot of ways to cool it on the inside. Sorry if I offended you.

For those of you who got the RRoD on thier Xbox 360, and sent it in to MS for repair, how long did it take you to get the mail-in box to ship your machine from MS?

I submitted and got a confirmation a bit over a week ago, but no return box yet...

2 weeks after I sent it in, sorry. It took about a week prior to recieve the coffin and ship it back out.

...and yes I said new system. They sent me a whole new core console (core is what I originally had). I know its knew because there was a tiny scuff mark on the bottom of my old one that I would totally recognize.

ok not gonna bother reading through this whole thread but here's my dillemma

i was playing some gears and almost everything was fine. i was talking with my teammates for a while but apparently they couldn't hear me say ****. i'm there killing ppl and **** and i eventually get murdered (it was a 3on1). i'm there trying to get in contact with my partners and **** when the screen goes black and i notice the 360 giving me the three red lights with the top right light not being illuminated. i started ****ting my pants since last time i got this i had to send off my 360. well i noticed the lights were blinking which didn't happen the first time around so i turned off the 360 and waited like 20 seconds and turned it back on. everything worked perfectly it went to the dashboard i signed on, played yaris (****ty arcade game), so i'm a little confused. was this just a minor **** up or should i be worried??

You probably shoulnt take it lightly. Try to take it somewhere and see if someone can find a problem. Usually when something happens like that it's going to happen again and get worse.

If your 360 is messed up, take it to the store you got it from (If you still have a warranty with them) If not you'll have to give it up to microsoft.

That sucks man :( I really hope mine doesn't red light, Nov. 17th will end my warranty. If it does crap out on me i'll just mod the hell out of it (After getting a new one back of course).

I have my new 360 sitting alone on its own small table. Elevated higher than it was so receive more wind flow from my ceiling fan.

UPS says my fixed xbox is due back the 17th, I can't wait! It will have more room now, no more breaking, it sux having to play the original xbox.
