He was a member of Boston along with Tom Scholz from 1976-1994, but still helped out the band Boston up until his death on March 9 2007.
you will know him from the Boston pack that HMX released.

Hitch A Ride
He was the lead singer from 1976-1994, but did also play Guitar and Percussion.
He will be Greatly missed:(
Boston still tours and Tom Scholz is still in the Band but is the only origininal band member still in Boston. Just thought that Brad Delp deserves to have a thread about him in remembrance of a great Musician. thanks

I feel the same way man but try not to make these kind of threads cause if we made threads like this for allll the dead musicians it would be a big list, so kind of a pointless thread but i feel the same way he will be missed

Hey, TheMeatball, if you feel that way then post it somewhere else. Make your own topic, who cares. Why try to cause negative feelings toward a person (dead or alive)? It's rude, mean, and inconsiderate. Not that I am pro suicide or anything but sice he did, don't you think that he was going through a lot? These are just my thoughts and I would appreciate if you would try to be reasonable. Anyway, yes, Mr. Delp will be missed. He certainly had a gift.

He's been missed. One of the greatest rock singers in the history of the genre. He ranks up there with Freddy Mercury.

Ditto, the only guy I respect is Jon from Dissection, since it was a religious decision to commit suicide.

Huh? Your joking...right?
Anyone who commits Suicide I have no sympathy for.
Then you have never known anyone with clinical depression. I hope you never do.

Yes. Yes I have met somebody with Clinical Depression. I've gone through some massive crap in my life and I don't go around being bummed about it. I use it as a positive and gather strength from said experience. I just don't see it.
And no, I'm not joking. If japanese perform Seppuku to regain their honor, why would it be hard to believe somebody killed themself for a religious purpose?

I actually am clincally depressed, I almost killed myself in May. It's a horrible thing, you all have no idea.
I've said this in other threads, but I didn't really discover Boston until after Delp had died, and I wish I had done so earlier so I could have gotten to respect him while he was still living. He was a tremendous singer and human being, I miss him. Boston, and music in general, is not the same without him.

Music is the same without Brad Delp. There was no void in music after his death. What contibutions did he make in the last 10 years of his life?
I'm seeing Boston in 4 days with their new (living) singer.

nothing good can come from an in memoriam thread. unless someone has actually died recently (like the Bo Diddly thread) these things should be avoided.
Also TheMeatball and Rockbandfan, this thread would have died if you hadn't kept it alive just to flame. Usually this is the forum with the most civil discussion, we shouldn't be insulting people for no reason.
