I was just curious. Was is ever OFFICIALLY announced that we'd be getting The Cars album this month, and Doolittle next month? Thought perhaps I missed something. Last thing I recall regarding the albums is when JP's album got released with the added note that Cars and Pixies would be coming out real soon, but not specifically what month, or in what order.

I just dont want to be setting myself up for yet another HMX meltdown.

And who knows what HMX is going to do with the EU tracks. For all we know they could release 3 of them at the end of the month. Have Disturbed to kick off June. Then split the remaining 6 EU tracks up over the following 2 weeks to give them another "break".

It'd be awesome though if someone could show me some clarification on the announced albums. Or is this another rumour that somehow got spinned into a faux-fact? (As it pertains to the exact timing of them)

The source is Kotaku (http://kotaku.com/381271/rock-bands-first-album-announced-our-harmonix-qa), who had an interview with Harmonix after Priest was announced. They don't cite the claim though, but I would expect Harmonix to tell them "hey... we're not sure about that part you said there". Especially since there was apparently a follow-up comment about the Grateful Dead, so if they were going to they could have.

The irony is, however, that I probably won't get all the much of the Euro pack. Hysteria is my only definite pick, but the only other songs I'm considering are Beetlebum, Hier Kommt Alex and Die Perfekte Welle, and those three will depend on how fun the charts are. That fact that we have songs in German keeps me hopeful that we'll one day see Rammstein in the game, though.

I also hope that there'll be two seperate releases with exclusive tracks for northern and southern Europe. Can't say much about tracks for southern Europe, since I'm not exactly from around those parts (although I'd hope there'd be some Lacuna Coil in there, since they're Italian), but northern Europe exclusive tracks from Holland/Belgium and Scandinavia could contain a whole lot of awesome (Golden Earring, Focus, Within Temptation, dEUS, K's Choice, Hooverphonic, Opeth...)


The Cars is a definite full album download for me, though. Really looking forward to that one.

Well we are all pretty sure The Cars album is supposed to be this month so that lands it on either the 20th or the 27th (presumably the 20th..). However, when was it said that the euro-exclusive DLC would release around the time of Rock Band's european release? I'm not saying it wont happen as it does seem appropiate, I'm just wondering if it has ever been said any where.

It does seem like a rather hard hit to the wallet if they are back to back.. Of course if the euro DLC is FREE.... Well then..

Only the 100% DLC buyers are likely to sweep up all the European songs, so I don't see the number available as a problem.

If the European songs don't release on the 27th then it would be hard for them to give the EU the same DLC we get after that, unless they release an extra pack. The EU and US DLC is supposed to continue simultaneously, and I'll bet the DLC every week in 2008 is going to apply to the EU as well; it seems that would leave the 27th as the date for the EU DLC. (I'd say 80% probability)

We know for sure that these songs will be 100% done by May 23rd, so there won't be a technical hold up on HMX's part.

As for the Cars album it's not as likely, but May is what we got out of the Kotaku interview. After Who's Next I don't think they would announce an album before it's ready, and, if they have many more albums in the pipe as they claim, then one a month seems to be a reasonable pace. (65% probability)

Yes Mr.Miyagi :confused: what are you a great Rock Band teacher,who cares about improvement its a game not a test for something in life.No offense but that really was an idiotic statement.

I've had Gears Of War since it was released and i still suck at it,but im not going to spend my day trying to get better,because i dont care and its not an important enough issue.

As for the DLC is it true some of that stuff isnt gonna be in English,and if so why release it over here? That idea is worse than all the weeks of DLC thus far.

I'm all for releasing non-English DLC (Rammstein, plz plz plz). Besides, they already have the tracks done so there is no reason not to make it available to people who want to buy them. Besides, the only thing it changes is vox, and that only measures your ability to hit a pitch and doesn't care about your ability to accurately pronounce French. After checking out the videos for the EU songs they all sound awesome and I will likely pick up the whole pack.

I'm super psyched about these next two weeks, although my wallet is currently running for shelter.

I actually have a friend visiting from the UK right now. It's 1.25 per liter right now X's 3.7 liters that equals one gallon. . . That's 4.63 a gallon x's the exchange rate of 2:1 (dollars to pounds) and that is $9.26 per gallon.
I will point out, they travel MAYBE 10 miles a day by car. The old world villages are a lot more self sufficient than our sprawling metropolis' here in America. In most European cities you could do all of your shopping within 5 miles of home. How many American cities is that true of? And that is not even to mention public transportation.
