compete with the 2 guitar hero games coming out every year
sure i understand that it takes tons of work charting them and that gh's dlc is more expensive but gh 3 has 71 songs on the game and costs 30 dollars
thats 42 cents per song
and if u want to include all the free songs than its
only
40 cents per song
and for rock band its
$0.51
with free dlc its
$0.50
so i imagine that the rock band dlc is going to be what competes with guitar hero aerosmith, right?
so it was already confirmed that there is more than 60 songs in gh aero smith so thats already less than 1 dollar a song while 90% of rock band's dlc is $2.00
so isnt it kinda well expensive
atleast when its compared to in-game songs?
note: this isn't meant to be something that prevents people from buying rock band dlc, its just so hmx actually notices that there dlc is more than 4 times as much as the in game song in gh 3 and twice as much as gh: aero smiths's in game songs people are going to buy that instead

I agree that for people who only like to play on the guitar that GH4 probably makes more sense from an econimical stand point.

I disagree. If you buy a single song from iTunes, it's $0.99, a reasonable price. For downloading one song that you get to play, it costs, usually, $1.99. That's not unreasonable at all, in my opinion.

Where is GH3 30 bucks? It's still selling for $50-60 here depending on the platform. Same thing with Rock Band. Not sure how you came up with your math on those.

What we all know is that the DLC for Rock Band is way better then the Guitar Hero 3 DLCs. The only good packs are The Foo Fighters pack and the Velvet Revolver pack for Guitar Hero. The rest of them is just a horseload of bull.
So yeah, i am willing to pay that price for some DLC that's more than good.

^^ gamestop has gh 3 used for 30 for ps3, 25 for ps2, and 35 for 360
same with rock band
^^^ u didn't even read my post
and also u brought up a very very dumb point
songs on itunes u can listen to any where while downloaded songs for rock band are limited to just rock band

but rb's dlc isnt competing with gh3's dlc
its competing with the in game songs of gh 3, gh: aero smith and gh: 4
and gh aero smith has just as good charts as rb does and they cost half as much

I did not think that they were able to use the drum set! I thought that they were just adding a Mic? Am I wrong?

No,it heard its all instruments now.The people at gamestop told me alot of people have been trading in their Rock Band stuff to pre-order them GH games because they;re going to offer all instruments,As for the games being cheaper, thats true i bought Rock Band from Game stop for next to nothing,i bought the game disc for like $40 bucks and a used drum set for about the same,i just use my GH3 guitar and i dont care about a mic.

im with you man
the DLC is pretty pricey
and i think they need more of a selection
or at least release more than 3 songs a week
i know that demanding a lot but hey
competition is competition
you gotta make money somehow
right?
Leftover_crack, you've posted what's basically this exact same thread before, and were shown reason after reason of why the pricing is fair. It's cheaper than GH's DLC, and you get a much larger amount of songs to choose from, with new songs coming out every week, and with more instruments than GH has. Let it go. The price of DLC isn't coming down anytime soon, nor is there any reason for it to.

This seems deja vu'ish to me as well. . . I think last time Crack boy your were shut down by someone pointing out that Rockband developers have to do four times the charting (guitar, bass, drums and vocals) that GH devs do.
When GH - Guitar Band. . . or whatever they want to call it is released, I guarantee you their DLC prices will go up too. At $2.00 its a bargain for what you get.

dude ur not listinign to my arguement
and this time alot more people are siding with me
i said that hmx is competing with activision by making tons of dlc
activision is fighting back with full games that average out to less than half the price of rb's dlc

Then go play your Guitar Hero then...I'm sure everyone will cry when they don't see your posts about DLC prices anymore. I simply don't buy songs I don't like and suck it up until songs I do like come along.
As far as pricing...the ITunes vs Rock Band reasoning is the best example I've ever heard. $2 a song is pretty good in my opinion.

no the best example for dlc pricing is in game vs dlc
cause they are actually the same thing and should cost the same
while itunes vs dlc are 2 different things
because the cheaper 1 u can use any where and the more expensive one is limited to rock band

Rockband 2 or expansion will happen....I guarantee it and probably late this year...Expect to hear something in July around E3.....Do you think the entire HMX team is just sitting around working on DLC? Be serious...

Wanna show us where gamestop is advertising GH or RB at 30 bucks ? here is a link to their site and it says $50 for only the game (http://www.gamestop.com/browse/ProductMerch.aspx?groupid=13) same with RockBand (http://www.gamestop.com/browse/ProductMerch.aspx?groupid=48)
The itunes point was valid, btw, because for .99 at itunes you can buy a song to listen to on the go... for only a buck more (in most cases... 2 bucks isnt even always the price, never mind the discount if you buy a pack) via PSN or MSO you can buy the song and actually play along to it. The price is perfect, and no matter how much you *****... the only way you are going to save money on DLC is if you opt to not buy.
The rest of us who enjoy the game and have no problems with the price for new songs (which from what I have seen, is everyone but you and a couple other broke 15 year olds) will continue to enjoy the game and its new features.

I still think (at least for the moment, until GH 4 gets the full slew of instruments) that you are comparing apples and oranges man. As of right now, you SHOULD have to pay more to get Rock Band DLC, it allows a full band to play the song, where GH is just guitar.
Also, Rock Band's guitar charting is still leaps and bounds ahead of GH at this point.

Let it go. We know you cannot afford the DLC because you are 14. Stop recreating this topic every month. The Pricing is fine, let it be.
