I know I'm definitely not going to be in the majority on this one, but seeing that there's one Sonic Youth song definitely makes me hopeful for their better songs, as Kool Thing absolutely isn't the first thing I'd have chosen by them.
Here's to hoping for the probably unchartable 100%, Sugar Kane, and the entirety of Daydream Nation, because there's so much good, fun, difficult music there. Thurston Moore is one of the best, most original guitarists of the past 25 years, and I'd love to try my hand at playing stuff like Teen Age Riot in Rock Band. Plus I'd like to try playing my guitar with a drumstick like he does.
Also, let's get some more noisy rock in there, like Spiritualized - Come Together, Spiritualized - You Lie You Cheat, My Bloody Valentine - Only Shallow, Afghan Whigs - Gentlemen, Dinosaur Jr. - Little Fury Things, and some Iggy Pop!

Yeah kool thing is coming out for DLC this week
I disagree. A lot of people would be pissed if more Sonic Youth had any more songs, seeing how many people were displeased with Kool Thing. It's such a niche-y band. I think you might see ONE more song, but i wouldn't hope for anything more than that.
as pissed as people are about kool thing, they'd probably be even more ticked off by any of sonic youth's other songs! I like Daydream Nation, its the only album of theirs I can stand, but most of the songs on it are too long or too weird! teenage riot would probably be accessible, since it doesn't have all the drilling fuzz that gets on people's nerves, but it's seven minutes long! that would get really boring after a while.
and as for the rest of your list, i think most of it wouldn't be good. not to dig on what you like in music or anything, i just don't think most of those tracks would be very fun in the game. \ i like dinosaur jr, but little fury things doesn't have a lot going on and it isn't that noisy, except for the first thirty seconds (which would admittably scare the HELL out of people, lol). you could do so much better for dino j songs, that one doesn't even have a solo in it. the only band there i agree would be cool to see in the game would be iggy pop, or rather iggy and the stooges. raw power should be a full album dlc, as a matter of fact, because that record has one of the most honest album titles ever. well, that, and it it's a kick-ass album that would actually be able to be appreciated by a lot of people, because of how influential it was.

Dirty Boots or Mary Christ would be awesome. Kool Thing isn't a bad choice though. Killer Drums.

OK, but if we're picking songs only for accessibility, then that rules out almost all metal. The average non-metal rock fan does not want to hear the screaming atonality of Disturbed, the shrieking histrionics of Judas Priest, or the ten minute solos of early Metallica. I have no problem with metal being in the game, but there's no reason not to balance it out with some good indie rock.
Agreed about Raw Power, although "L.A. Blues" is crazier than anything by Sonic Youth or Dinosaur!

Yes to Dinosaur Jr. (yes yes yes yes), My Bloody Valentine, and especially more Sonic Youth.
Of course there are dozens and dozens of SY songs that would be unplayable in Rock Band (SYR comes to mind), but at the same time a bunch of a gems are here as well.
"Hot Wire My Heart" from Sister would be excellent, if possibly little gray in lyrics. Probably not a best choice, but still worth mentioning.
I could see "Trilogy: Hyperstation", "Kissability" and "Hey Joni" from Sonic Youth's album Daydream Nation would be perfect for Rock Band. Those tracks are all under 5 minutes long and have excellent playing (vocals would be the only questionable bits perhaps).
Goo has a lot of accessible songs. Aside from "Kool Thing", "Dirty Boots" and "Disappearer" would be good.
"100%" would be hilariously awesome to play on the guitar. "Chapel Hill" would be good.
Of all the Sonic Youth albums, Rather Ripped has a ton of accessible and good music. Everything but "Sleeping Around", "Turqoise Boy", "Pink Steam" and "Or" would be good for charting and arguably fun to listen to.
This huge catalogue of songs is just to show that there are good Sonic Youth songs out there that can be applied to the requirements that make a good song in Rock Band.
And my favorite song to see would probably be "Hey Joni" :D
