Can't connect online play

I'm having a small issue with PS3 online play. Whenever I use the "Find Players" Function everything works perfectly. Lag free and all. But when I invite friends or friends invite me, I always get an error that says I can't connect to session. If this was just with one or two users it wouldn't be a problem, but it happens with EVERYONE I try to invite/am invited by.

Is this an issue with my PS3?

try playing your other games and invite a friend to a game, if it still doesn't work then i'd call sony about it if it does work, its probably some crazy glitch you found in rock band. If it's just a psn issue it would probably be easier to fix.
