[PS3] 3rd Party Guitar Controller

I recently bought a 3rd party guitar controller, and today i got Rock Band, and now im pissed.. not only does mt GH III controller not work on Rock Band.. but neither does the 3rd party one, it even has the extra freat buttons

it connects as if it was just a normal PS3 controller
is there some special way i need to connect this controller.. because i dont want to have to go and buy ANOTHER guitar controller.. and im in Australia so geting them is a chore in the first place...

The only third party controllers that work with RB are the PS3 Nyko Frontman and the new line of TAC guitars that are supposed to start shipping this week.

Thank Activision for not letting Harmonix patch their game to be compatible with both standards.

what kind of guitar is it? If it has the solo buttons i have a hard time believing it would not work.

I currently dont know of any guitars besides the TAC guitars that have solo frets.
