So we all know how this works. New games, especially BIG new games (ie. Halo) are usually always released on a Tuesday in store for sale. So while the game may be RELEASED on the 23rd (friday) it means we may still have to wait till the 27th (the following tuesday) to buy it. So in that fact it doesn't really come out for sale till after that weekend.

I mean yeah there is a chance and it would be very nice but reality wise it doesn't seem very plausable.

I can guarantee it will come out on the 23rd. That's because it's Black Friday, the biggest shopping day of the year (In America). It's all a marketing plan to get the most sales. The massive amounts of moms just go out and shop for ALL their Christmas stuff that day. People are sent to hospitals it gets so bad. So that way, when all the crazy parents go in to Gamestop or whatever, they'll see Rock band, and buy it instantly.

Totally off topic, but I read this article talking about how the actual busiest retail day is the Saturday before Christmas. Don't ever count out the power of the slackasses.

But yeah, this game is definitely going to be sold on the 23rd. If the Tuesday thing played a factor, it will leak out the previous tuesday, not the following. No one wants to miss the Blackest of all Fridays.

well of course that last day people have off before xmas is the busiest. that's when all the procrastinators shop. The old people like to get it done early, aka black friday.

you are correct sir. every year the newspapers and tv news always make this distinction. it's usually a one-liner in a black friday story. they mention black friday is actually the 2nd busiest shopping day of the year, next to christmas eve, or was it the saturday before christmas? i forget, but i know the answer is not black friday.

Thank God my mom shops throughout the last of Nov. through Dec. She probably wont pick mine up till near Xmas, but I am still guarenteed one due to my excellent hook up.

Whatever!!! I'm just worried for the stock quantities!! I mean sure I have my preorder payed in full, but like everybody says that particular shopping day is crazy!!! I would be awful if I find out that the stupid GameStop store manager sold my preorder bundle just because some nut offered to pay 500 bucks for it!!! could that happen?? and can I sue somebody if it does??!!!:(

There's a good way to prevent that. Be there when the store opens. =\

Kind of defeats the purpose of pre-order though...

No.... you show up at the store to make sure your pre-ordered copy isn't sold off to the highest bidder.

In-store preorders typically require you to go there ahead of time and put money down to ensure you get it on the the street date.

...and get killed by the herd of trampling soccer moms? I'll go when I'm good and ready to wake up.

I know most folk are loathe to do this, but there won't be a lot of soccer moms at gamestop I don't expect. And another thing...I just realized that this game I have OBSESSED over for over a year is officially coming out 2 freaking day before my birthday. Crazy.

I'll be in the States shopping on Black Friday, so I'll have to wait till Tuesday to play the game. Hopefully the CAN dollar remains higher the greenback - because I have a sinking feeling that retailers still won't be able to sell @ a cost par with the south. Kudos to Wallmart for selling Halo 3 correctly.

You would be surprised how busy our GameStop gets around the holidays. As it is inside of a mall, the place is real small (I've never been in a "Stand Alone" store, so I don't know how our GameStop compares in size), and I have seen that place PACKED... as in, you're front row at a big name band concert, getting kicked in the head due to the crazy soccer moms trying to crowd surf their way up to the front of the pit to pay for their game/s, system/s. :P

I don't think they can sell your pre-order, especially if you paid in full. That would be just silly, it's not eBay where they take the highest bidder

In-store preorders are almost never in full.

I'm pretty sure that any money down is considered a binding contract. It doesn't have to be paid in full. That is the point of pre-ordering... as discussed earlier.

Yeah, I know. But I'm just trying to speculate whether "anything goes" on Black Friday.

This is why I would suggest pre-ordering at a GameStop that isn't anywhere near a mall or any of the big retail stores. For instance, I know of a GameStop close to my work that is in the shopping center of a grocery store, but not too much else. That's going to be where I place my pre-order.

I think the next GameStop to where I am is in the next town south of here... I believe it is a stand alone one, but I can't justify going that much further to purchase a video game. Gas prices suck, so even if it is only a couple of extra minutes of driving (and a nice little town too) the price of gas shuns that idea.

Sadly, I'm going to be out of the state that friday (visiting family back in PA). It's not worthwhile to try and get a copy that friday since I won't have my PS3 there, and I wouldn't be able to fly with it. Also, you have to remember, there's a chance there might be shortages of the bundles, so even if you pre-order at Gamestop or something, you might not be guaranteed a bundle (I've seen this happen multiple times) if they don't get enough to fill all the orders.

So, I pre-ordered online, (amazon) which got me free shipping, so it'll get here probably mid week. Works out for the best really.

They can't sell your pre-order for like 48 hours I believe, if you weren't to come pick it up in that time frame.

Man, and I was looking so forward to not having to deal with the masses on Black Friday this year. Wish they would allow preorders to be sold on the conventional Tuesday or even the less-orthodox Wednesday release date and hold the rest until Friday.
