This thread is the illegitimate offspring of the EU/AUS Rock Band discussion, which is tending to go off topic quite a lot, so this is a thread for all us EU people who are just getting REALLY REALLY REALLY excited about the game!

I will of course be doing the mandatory countdown EVERY morning. So talk about whatever you want dudes!!!!

Amazing thread title sir. I dig your sense of humour. You're keeping me amused at work thoroughly. Are you at work btw?

Pfft your degree. Get Rock Band. During my disertation all I did was play Knights of the Old Republic and then scribble nonsense between 2 and 3 am. Mind you I knew that my dissertation couldn't affect the outcome of my overall grade cos I'd messed up a few exams so I guess that didn't motivate me any!

Yeh 3 years of work wasted for 4 days of Rock Band! (well 2 years, this year has already been somewhat sabotaged by GH3). Unfortunately its not just a dissertation - I'm doing Media Practice so I have films and portfolios to hand in, a whole years worth of grades resting on 1 deadline...

Ah pressure. See I did a Film and Media degree but opted to do a written dissertation rather than a film piece. I was too burnt out and my gran had just died so I really didn't wanna put myself through the hell that comes with working with 4 other people on a film. So I just talked smash about Quentin Tarantino for a million words. Good luck with everything dude.

Cheers :) I've done a mini-dissi on a Post-Modern reading of Pirates of the Caribbean (some lame visual culture module) but the rest is wrapped up on my film, interactive locative media piece, and website, along with the work I'm doing on 4 other pieces.

Every time I think WOO 14 DAYS tILL ROCK BAND!!! I also thinkg **** 14 DAYS TILL HAND-IN!!!

Lol so you get excitement followed by fear. I love it. You'll be a bag of nerves next week. We'll be sure to be supportive and not wind you up in the slightest;) In fact I don't expect to see you online next week young man. Get your uni work done!

See I did a post modern reading of Tarantino films up to Kill Bill 1 (the second one hadn't come out yet...eek showing my age). Basically arguing whether he's a plagerist or he just likes to do homages.

11 days to finish GTA4 and Mass Effect and keep the wife happy ;)

And to top it all off I've just found out I've won a place in the Football Manager Live beta test which will start at the end of the month. I can see me sleeping on the couch for the next wee while!!

I keep wondering if i should buy a replacement drum pedal, because i've read all over that the one that comes with the game breaks quite easily. But whatever i want to get it'll have to wait, i've had to hock my liver to be able to afford Rock band inthe first place!:)

Lmao I had one foot on the floor when I realised the guy was taking the mickey. I have had a wee shot on the PS2 though. My big bro just got the game to try it out on guitar/bass. That was a loooong time ago now mind. I did like it a lot. But I'm looking forward to the next gen features. My rather lovely other half bought me a 360 in Feb for my birthday in anticipation of the release...well actually she wanted to play Burnout, but that was beside the point apparently. Funny how the game I got with it was Burnout eh? Heh, but I'm not complaining. I'd been humming and hawing over buying one since Guitar Hero 2 game out, but then I got married and blah, blah, blah. Looking at fridges, you'll know what I mean:D

Tell me about it Blag, had to sell my PSP on ebay and can only afford the rest because of my credit card. Thank god they don't take money from you straight away when you pre-order.

I sold a shed load of stuff on ebay to be able to afford it. Sold my original old school DS with 7 games, a camera lens, Guitar Hero 3 for the Wii (I just wasn't playing it, I'd gone back to GH2 on the Xbox), Skate for the 360 and a few other things. Luckily they all sold for a good price so I had some extra cash to buy the pedal metal billet with hinge and some gum rubber pads for the drum kit.

I know....i'd never be able to do it if that was the case. I could bore you all with how complicated my life is becoming, me and my lass rent a flat, but we've just got ourselves a housing association flat, so all of my lass's family are now helping us decorate, on evenings and weekends, and some of them are buying us furniture, since we're so skint. What they dont know is that i've got £130 sitting in my bank account waiting for Rock Band, that i've borrowed from somewhere else, so when i do get it, we've got to keep it a secret from all of her family, otherwise ill get grief for buying a computer game when i should be buying fridges etc, so the weekend the game comes out, i'm going to down at the new flat most of the day, painting and wallpapering, and pretending im not having a MASSIVE rock band party at the old flat when i've finished!!!

I swear life gets more complicated the older you get.

They're not bad priced in all honesty.

The drum pads were £16.21 GBP all in and the pedal was £21.53 GBP. Really the pedal I've bought as a sort of preventative measure I guess. I've not decided whether to stick it on straight away or not. I'll see. I have a heavy foot though. I know I'll stomp the heck out of the standard pedal.

Lol thank you for your effort to british up your advice. Yeah, from what I read around the various topics on the forum the stock pedal is commonly known as rubbish. I just don't really think I can justify shelling out for the Omega pedal or such. As cool as it looks it's just super pricy. I'd get shot at dawn if I came home with one. Hoping the pedal metal does it's job of reinforcement.

I'm looking forward to it, though our mail delivery has been getting later and later... so if it doe's show up I get the feeling it will be whilst I am at work as I am working 1230 till 2130 on the friday.... I plan to run out of work for an hour if I didnt get it before work, just in case I can pick it up at the PO.

But then, I ain't going to be playing the drumkit at 930 at night... so I guess it'll wait till the next day. Though I am sure I will give the guitar a shot straight off lol

I think you'll be ok dude as long as nobody stomps it. I would play shoes off, feet wrapped in bubblewrap just incase:p But seriously. I think it'll be a-ok if you're playing sensibley with it.

And argh...the horror...Bagpipe Hero... I cannae think of anything worse other than possibley Guitar Hero: The Proclaimers

Klopek, try going to www.gameplay.co.uk and buying it there with the code dt7aquwhf that'll get you down to 34.99 maybe. Not sure how much it is on gameplay but that code gets you a fiver off.

Nice try but unfortunately it says the voucher won't work - possibly because the order isn't of a high enough value. Regardless, they're charging £50 for it! That's the RRP! What a joke!

Cheers but my current favourite is www.Shopto.net - £37.99 and in the past they've been quite good about getting things delivered extremely quickly. Also, if a friend recommends the product to you and you purchase, he'll receive £1 credit for a future purchase. Obviously if you're both buying it you can recommend the product to each other.

Yeah I've heard very good things about Shopto, which is why I've preordered the entire bundle with them, as PLAY won't let me order with them unless I phone them.

But Shopto who are based on mainland UK, are also sending it with TNT Next day shipping, so I'm pretty much guranteed to have it by release day, possibly the day before depending when they dispatch as Friday releases tend to be dispatched on a Wednesday from online retailers. Hell if First class Royal Mail can reach me from Down south up to Scotland next day, im pretty sure TNT next day will manage it :p

Yeah, Play orders will most likely get to you by Friday, although it really does depend on the Royal Mail. I mean usually when i order games they are sent from down south by First Class postage, and i get them next day, although in one case i remember not receiving it till 3 days afer. So I'm guessing that your right with Play just covering their backsides by saying its not guranteed for friday. But anyways if its sent out on Wednesday it should be there for friday, hoping mines is sent out wednesday too, then I should get it on Thursday :p

Play are actually based in Jersey. That's why it sometimes takes a bit for them to get stuff to you. As said in other threads, anything over £70 bucks and Play will send it Special Delivery. That generally means the Royal Mail move their butts a bit quicker. It should also mean I get it by 7 am on the Friday if, as you reckon, they send it out Wednesday. Really just depends when it's released to retailers. I know in the past most games get to the retailers Weds and some send preorders out on that day so it gets to folk on the Thursday. That's what happened with my Mario Kert from Zavvi.

Im going to stick with play as well, i was getting a bit paranoid about delivery dates and what not, but Play are the cheapest ive found so far (£132.98), so i'm going to stick with them, £15 difference with shopto may not sound like much, but its more than i've got to spare.....

Here's something to really upset you, lol. Anybody who has ordered anything from Play.com before will know that even items within the same order will be delivered seperately. What if your instruments are sent via next day but your game sent out standard? The last thing you want is a box of instruments and no game!

Not trying to influence anyone to change, just pointing that out. Play's price is pretty good.

I'm currently just getting the drums from Teso (£60 before they put the price up). So there's a chance my game will arrive first. Still, I've got no problem rocking out on my Les Paul until they show up!

I still have that nagging feeling about faulty/****e drums though. I really hope they just work properly. Also with this GH4 announcement. What if their drums are significantly better? What if my Rock Band drums won't work with GH4 (likely, I'd imagine) - how many of these plastic instruments am I going to end up with?!

See I've had people say that to me before but I've never had that with play. Anytime I've ordered more than one thing it's all came at teh same time. All it says on play is Please note that your goods may be sent to you in instalments. So I dunno. Guess I've been lucky eh?

I reckon if the drums work in RB a lot of folk will trade up for them as they look sturdier. That doesn't mean anything mind. They may be rubbish! I think if the RB drums aren't compatible with GH4 I won't be drumming in it. I'm not wasting more money and cluttering up the houst with more peripherals just cos of competition between competitors.

Ah, that's interesting. I've never had items bundled together in the same box/package. During one of their clearance sales I ordered 20 CDs and every single one came within its own jiffy bag. Poor postman!

It's a horrible shame really. Harmonix try and let you use whatever hardware you want while Activision/Red Octane totally halt that with the PS3 Les Paul - so by being such bastards they've effectively made their own hardware the most universal, since it works in both. They win. Lame.

The only reason the 360 Les Paul still works is because it uses Microsoft's standard proprietary wireless technology, correct? I wonder if Activision/Red Octane will be able to block the drums because they're wired? I don't really know how this all works.

Ah, that's interesting. I've never had items bundled together in the same box/package. During one of their clearance sales I ordered 20 CDs and every single one came within its own jiffy bag. Poor postman!

Lol 20 CDs. That's hilarious. I can just see his face. Did they all come on the same day? I think if that does happen the chances are the instruments will come but the game wont. If that happened it would blow majorly. But I'd be tempted to hot foot it into town, buy a copy, and then return that when mine turned up. Stick it on the old credito card or something and then it's easily refunded.

You are correct about the wireless tech. Although I'm not sure how it all works wired. For example Singstar Mics don't work at all with Karaoke Rev. Only USB ones like the official ones or logitech ones do.

I think they came over two or three days. They were sent from Play.com at the same time, so I imagine they were just piled at the sorting office and sent to me in chunks.

On another note, this McDonalds DLC discount offer. I noticed that the European release date and the MD offer overlap. Anbody know if the prices will be lowered here also? I'd hope so, especially considering the tracks cost $1 when first released in the US anyway! I was thinking about picking up that crushcrushcrush song but see that one's already expired. Bummer.

Hi guys,
I used to show my face around the old threads quite a lot but once it was announced I only popped back from time to time to make sure it wasn't suddenly not coming out til August... good to see there's a lot of people who still want to discuss it online.

Are peeps like Donkeydood and Bassmasta still knocking around?

OK, here's a question for you....well more of a "this is what I decided". I was looking at my games the other day coz I kept a load with the intention of part exing just for RB and I clocked GH2 and 3. Now GH2 is getting part exed and was debating whether or not to keep or swap GH3. All of a sudden it occured to me - yeah sure, I could keep GH3 and occasionally play guitar to Slipknot and Disturbed OR I can swap that for more money off RB and play guitar, bass, drums or sing along to some decent phukking MetallicA tunes!!!!

Just wondered if anyone else agreed or if there are people who felt a certain affinity with GH and were planning to keep it alongside the (hopefully) far superior RB...

Heh, probably. I was busy up til about 10:30. Aye I've got a three day weekend too. But I've booked the Friday off. So four days. Unfortunately Indian Jones is out that weekend too! But I think we're going to try squeeze in an advance showing on the 22nd after work and leave the weekend for Rock Band. Well apart from the gig I'm going to the Friday night. But at least I'll have had the day to get to grips with it if it arrives.

Aye I keep taking a swatch at the DLC and going eep, that's gonna cost me! Luckily I got 1000 free with my GTA pre-order which also game with a fiver off 2100 points at HMV. So I got another 2100 for £15 squid. Still not quite enough for all the DLC I want though! Check out Tesco btw. They do 2100 points for about £14 I believe. Free delivery.

I have totally blagged it with the MS points - I got 1000 for free for buying Mass Effect from HMV, 1000 for free for pre-ordering GTA4 with HMV, then when it arrived it had a voucher book which included £5 off 2100 points.

I worked it out to be approximately £30 worth of MS points for free :D

Greggerfer - smart boy:) I was hoping there would be some deals going around bundling points in with Rock Band but no such luck! So far I've only spent £15 on the discounted ones from HMV, so I think I might get another 2100 off Tesco. I had 250 left over from the initial 500 I loaded in when I got the Xbox. So at the minut I'm sitting with 3350. Will prob get from Tesco come pay day. Or maybe pay day next month. See what the bank tells me:D

Morning All(well its afternoon now, damn my sleeping in), 9 Days to go cant wait!

I'm sitting here trying to learn Hamlet Quotes for an English exam tomorow yet all I can think about is Rock band :p

Ive got around 2000 points already on my xbox, I also have £20 HMV gift voucher, so should be able to get 4200 points card for around £15, as im sure it costs around £35. Hopefully around 6000 points will be enough for the DLC that I want :D

Klopek
05-14-2008, 07:59 AM
I already bought 2 2100 point cards in anticipation! I'm certainly going to buy the Metallica pack, thrash pack and rush pack (that was a pack, right?). There's probably a few more I've forgotton about. Shall see whether it's worth picking up the Judas Priest album too. I was supposed to save the points but I've already spent 800 points on Rez! With the release date so close I should be able to hold out now!

I only noticed the request a song bit a few days ago. I went with this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fn48SSfO4GY - yeah, I want a challenge.

Btw guys, I think if I remember right the 4200 card in HMV was closer to £40. Maybe over. I cannae mind. It was last weekend I was in.

How do I go about requesting then? I can't be arsed looking around for myself today. Tired. Lazy, etc.

Man they really know how to squeeze the pennies out of us eh? I'm not gonna complain cos I really wanna play the game and the price isn't too bad. It's a lot. But when you think GH is around £60 on average and with this you're getting a drum kit also...meh it all evens out in my head. They just know how to keep us spending:D

Ah, saw them in my Freshers Week (Glasgow Uni) and got a kiss off one of the singers (yes, female before someone says SOMETHING) :p Very drunk period in my life... but their music, despite sounding almost identical (which is no bad thing if you like the style) is fast, hard, and the accent undeniably Scottish. Americans would probably leap at the chance of such DLC, with the amount we get over here looking for 'heritage'

I'm pretty sure the chick singer is married to the fella from Idlewild. You see them toodling about the West End a fair bit. I was just never into that whole Glasgow/Scottish music scene. I know why people like it, I just could never dig it. Frans Ferdinand, Sons and Daugthers, Belle and Sebastian etc I could take 'em or leave 'em really. That's ridiculous!!! What terrible timing!

My cousin decided to host a "gaming night" and invited me and a bunch of friends over. We lugged over our most recent favourite games including Guitar controllers and ordered some food. About 8 seconds after turning on the 360, as he accesses the system blade - bam. Frozen screen. Restarts console and there are the rings! WORST TIMING EVER!

If it helps, I think he got his console repaired quite quickly (this all happened within the last 3 months) - so should hopefully reflect thier current work rate. What won't help, however, is that it broke again about 2 weeks later.

Well I've been banned from talking about Rock Band in the house until at least a week today so I can sympathise...my other half will be playing bass but doesn't get as ridiculously excited about anything like I do. A very cool cucumber;)

My other half is exactly the same. She'll be playing bass and possibly vocals on kazoo!! :D

I had a brief go on Wanted Dead or Alive whilst I was in New York middle of Feb and I loved it!! Very similar timing and HO/PO's to GH2 (which i Love).

This is just making me more excited! I'm hoping by some miracle of fate Play.com send it out early!

I must say, ive been also incredibly impressed by the outpourings of sympathy from everyone as well, this really feels like a community!!!

That's how it is exactly. I can be sat reading this forum/comics for an hour then flat out busy for an hour and a half and then it's back to nothingness. God forbid a server goes down. Then all hell breaks loose!

Aye I heard about Mr Stoltz. That bodes well for the show in some ways. I just don't know if it'll grip me as much without the crew of the Galactica. Are you watching the new series? Ooft. That sir, is intense!

Oh yes, i am watching series 4 and by god it is getting better EVERY episode. I cant believe theyre keeping the final ten episodes until next year...

You'll be lucky dude. I mean, you might just be that, lucky, but I don't think you'd get one for £20. Folk know that second guitars (without game) are like gold dust and exploit it for all it's worth. Tis the nature of the beast unfortunately. I've came to the conclusion I'm no longer venturing out of this thread and the EU thread. People are mean.

Jeez I did that the other night. Sat and went through the DLC and ordered it into No Way, Aye Maybe and Oooh I Really Want That. Think it's going to cost me a small fortune. Particularly when they keep adding to it. Surprisingly I'm not creaming myself over all the things most folk are. But I suppose that's the point in DLC a lil something for everyone. I kinda feel like pointing out to those moaning about the lack of metal or whatever that the game is called ROCK Band. So I'd rather see some more rock from all decades rather than some obscure finnish noise band that seems to be popular these days. Oooh showing my age:D

Anyone know how come we're not getting the DLC til the Tuesday after the game's out? Not that I'm complaining, there's plenty to play with on the disc straight away. I was just curious.

Lol. Did you decide your kilt for the wedding? What does your Mrs think of you wearing a kilt btw? I know some love it and others are all meh.

And it's not Lee. That'd be mental. I never even considered him at all. He had a childhood as far as we know. I mean...are cylons born as kids and grow up? I thought the skin jobs were just as they were. Man...maybe Big Adama knew all along...that'd be the sucker punch if it's the case. My money is on the bird from Razor. The wee Kiwi chick who stayed behind and spoke to the original hybrid. Don't ask why, it's just a feeling. It's never going to be Starbuck. If it is...well that's just lazy writing.

Sub, aye that's sound reasoning about the DLC. Makes sense. I really couldn't care less for Oasis and Muse. I used to love Oasis back in the day but nothing they've done since Be Hear Now has been overly aww inspiring.

Oh, i dont think it would be starbuck. Actually now, i think about it, what with those Razor flashbacks, couldnt it be Bill Adama? Didnt he essentially find them trying to create human cylons at the end of the first cylon war?

And do they have childhoods? I just assumed the cylons were based on particular humans, and those humans were replaced by their cylon copies...

It would appear i'm in a trough this morning...

Meh, some of the more lesser known modern bands would work very well, I think. Subways, 22-20's, Blueskins, Blackbud, (despite 2 of those having broke up). I don't know. GH4 sounds like t will have a fantastic line-up, and very probably learned that people want DLC and begin pushing similar big names on a semi-weekly basis...

Kilts, on the other hand... no-no. Englishman who doesn't even ike wearing shorts, let alone those infernal things. ;) BUt some DO suit them, so long as they're not those awful trouser-kilt thingies which look as though even golfers would refuse to wear them! yick!

Aye anything you can do on the dash you can pretty much do on the website. I've requested to be your pal as well Squeezy.

See...I didn't think they were necesarily based on actual humans. I thought they were just created and bamfed into the world. I dunno. I'm just confusing myself now. My best mate Elaine (Me, her and the wife do Battlestar Saturdays each week as I d/l it when it's showin the US, don't have fancy things such as Sky) reckons its Big Bill. I'm on the fence about that one.

As far as Brit bands go I'd like to see some Manic Street Preachers in the game. But the vast majority of music I love comes in from the USA and Australia.

Mr Turk, I'd recomend The Clash tunes or Weezer. Always good for a laugh.

I don't know why I like that track. I never listen to similar music. It's just annoyingly catchy. I'm sure I'll hate it soon enough though + I'll only buy if we get it for the initial half $ the Americans did. There you go. I feel less like a dork now.

Has anyone contemplated holding off on their DLC purchases? I mean, it's inevitable that eventually you'll tire of most of the on-disc tracks. I'd quite like to play it as normal and just as the excitement fades, purchase a whole bunch of awesome tracks and get myself right back into the mood. I can imagine if I were to purchase DLC almost immediately that my enjoyment would probably fade away not long after it would if I had only started with the on-disc songs... if you know what I'm rambling about?

Then again, saying that, I don't think I really have the will-power!

I actually had a similar fear. I think I'll be starting on medium and working my way up. Def doing the drum tutorial. I was always fairly ok at playing real life drums. Main reason I didn't take it up was I had issues keeping my feet and my hands going together. I'd think about it too much and thus fluff it up. I'm hoping it'll click much like the move from medium to hard guitar in GH. Although that took a while:D I get the rage too easy and have to walk away from the game!

Never really bothered me about having to play on expert, never got above medium on GH1 or GH2. Also prefered to just pick up and play than having to try and learn song off by heart and don't have the time to practice the same song again and again.

My current plan is to try and get to medium on the drums and hard on guitar, will give the higher levels a go but if I can't manage them it's no big deal.

That was how I always used to play GH1 and 2 and then randomly one day I was bored as I'd played it all on medium and started hard and it just clicked in. I could just do it. I think that it helped I'd been playing a lot of actual guitar and my hand was a bit more nimble. I'd recently purchased a Zakk Wylde Buzzsaw and couldn't tear myself away from it. I tend to find the better I know a song the better I can play it as I seem to know the pace and rhythm a lot better.

In a totally unrelated piece of news, my mrs just txted me to say the kitten just fell in the bath while she was in it. The cat is not happy. At all. I couldn't help but laugh (which is cruel I know) partly due to the fact I know she's probably tearing about the flat getting EVERYTHING wet and I'm happily at work. That makes me a bad person doesn't it?

Gooood Morning, Its the monday of the last week and oh boy its gonna drag on!

To occupy my mind I went and got ProStreet (Thats how bored I am!) and a lovely fat points card, already had an email from game to say its being dealt with. Hoping it'll arrive for my birthday (Thursday) so I can have a rocktacular event.

Thanks for the FR Booker, I welcome any other Uk Rockers. If I have room on my friends list that is!

Back to work! :(

Hi all im new to this forum and like many of you i have been plonked in front of a computer screen watching videos on youtube of people rocking out on the drums and guitar and feeling the envy.

I've noticed the guitar part of the game doesn't seem to be as hard as guitar hero 3 so i should have no problem with the expert part of that its just the drums im going to have a problem with, i havent a clue how some of these people do what they do, its going to be hard to train myself to use the bass pedal at a different speed to what my arms are moving, anyone else have this worry? I think its going to have to be an easy start on the old drums.

As for singing i hope its as easy as singstar was as i wasnt to bad at that lol.

it's cool to read through all your excited posts after Xbox360 magazine just spent 4 pages pointing out all its faults, I nearly changed my mind about getting to Game for opening until the missus pointed out that as I have been looking forward to it for so long, myself and others like me (ie. you lot) will see past all that and just have a great time with it.

Afternoon all, someone asked a couple of pages ago what the "bad points" were that Xbox 360 mag had to say about our beloved RB.

Apparently the drums make an annoying noise when you hit them, meaning you have to turn the telly right up, otherwise you'll put off everyone playing with you if you fudge up.
The drums, in particular the pedal, feel very flimsy like they could break at any moment (but we already knew that)
the guitar is basically 4r53. No one can see the point of the solo buttons (errmmm....soloing?) and say the X-Plorer is much better due to the 'click' you get on the strum bar. Apparently with the RB guitar, if you get a sequence of lots of notes, without that 'click' you're often playing on blind faith, unsure if you're hitting it enough to hit the note.
Finally, they said that playing solo is like band practice and really unsatisfying.

Fudge em - I get to sit in my room playing drums to MetallicA.

Incidentally, did any of you add me to your friends list? I got home to find a friend request last night and didn't recognise the name so just wondered if it came from here.
I mean, feel free to add me - name is Greggerfer on there too.

It's all a bit nit picky huh? The clacking of the drums, yes is a downpoint, but is fixable - ok at extra cost. The guitar...meh, I've heard good and bad and I guess only play on it will tell what I think about it. Surely playing solo is band practice....I kinda thought that was teh point. Nevermind eh?

Does she have lil' hands? If she does make sure you start her off on a bass with fairly small frets. Epi Flying V's look cool and are super easy to play. Only prob is you have to play them standing all the time unless you wanna pull a James Hetfield and sit awkwardly:D

To start her learning I'd recommend one of these

http://www.guitarampkeyboard.com/en/epiphone-eb-0-sg/469

They're 3/4 neck size so it's easy to get comfortable whilst learning. Nothing too fancy, affordable and dang they look cool:D

You can get a full scale version too that's got the full neck, two pickups a bit more weight to it. She could always go the way of fender basses too as all of them are easy to play. I just hate them with a passion. Gibson girl all the way:D

I've had no sign of anything happening with either my game or instrument yet! It's cool, I reserve the right to spit hate tomorrow though.

Edit: lol - Drums estimated dispatch date "23rd May"

I spent a fair while staring at the marketplace DLC yesterday. Managed to create my marvelous list:

Metallica - 440
Thrash - 440
Working Man - 160
Boston - 800
Judas Priest - 1200

A lovely grand total of 3040/3400 points.

I've got The Perfect Drug on backburner until I'm actually able to play the drums. Also undecided about the Harmonix tracks. Sprode did make me laugh in Amplitude. What's up with the Harmonix pack costing the same as purchasing the tracks seperately? 80 points each, Pack for 240.

Boston surprised me. It wasn't on my wanted list however after watching some Youtube videos I've decided not only are they good tracks but they feature some fancy chart-work. Pleasantly surprised by the solos, especially the keyboard!

I like the look of The Grateful Dead charts - reminds me greatly of Jessica from GH2. Very enjoyable. I really don't like those softy vocals though. I wouldn't be able to play those for too long.

I'll have to make sure I have some more points in reserve just in case they release Fuel and Shadow World anytime soon.

How come they aren't sending it Mr Clown? They ran out of stock?

Squeezy, lol, if women are good at something it's spending money. But £150 all in for a wee starter bass and amp is pretty good going. It'll get her up and making some thunderous bassy goodness. Plus there's nothing hotter than your wife playing bass:D

AARRRGGGHHH!!!!!! IT'S SO EXCITING!!!!!!!!

Got me downloads in last night - MetallicA pack (of course - incidentally, nice Cliff pic Booker), The Kill, Another Thing Coming, Electric Eye, War Pigs, FallOutBoy (guilty pleasure, I make no apologies), wolfmother (purely coz my band plays it) and Crue.

This is gonna be sweeeeeeeet. I got the day off Friday so add me up mo fo's and I'll see you then for some jamming.

Incidentally, potential good news for those who pre-ordered from Play - I pre-ordered Sweeney Todd and it came out on Monday, but I got it on Saturday. You might get RB tomorrow :D

No contact from play.com they just havnt sent it yet and there is no way if they start packing it tomorrow ill get it on friday.

Because when you buy from play.com [preorder] it goes through stages

1.order placed
2.when it comes in stock they pack it [takes 1 day
3.then they send it[anything up to 3 days]

and still today they hadnt started packing it so i cancelled it and i will just buy it on friday.

Trust me though i will never buy from play.com again hopefully this will teach them not to stand between a man and his rock band.

Thanks for responding :)

I am gonna have to trust play on this one though. I've bought over 10 ten games from this site and ALWAYS got it on day of release. The packing process doesn't always take a day and they could plan on doing it laster today. The fact there are several others who are still 'processing' leads me to believe they will be shipping early tomorrow. I doubt they would piss off this many people though.

If not, I'll probably end up putting my fists through my drum pads

But then you'd have to wait for your replacement drums to arrive as well!! :D

I'd hate to think what you'd put your fist through then!!

I always pre-order my games off gameplay and always had it 1 (or 2) days before release. I had an email this morning saying they have dispatched both the instruments and the game, so I guess I will def haveit for release or even tomorrow...cant wait! :P

Greggerfer - That's cool dude. I just accepted ya. I posted this in the EU thread but I'll just recap, my Amazon order has changed to shipping soon with an estimated delivery between the 23 and 23, so that's looking good for tomorrow eh?

I'm sorry for the guys who ordered with Play and it's all went a bit wonky. I think they probably got a bit overwhelmed with the volume of orders possibley. I know for a fact Amazon are prioritising by postal method (not an issue with play I know), which they have to do. The people who chose Guaranteed Next Day are clearly getting it before those who chose something else even if they placed their order first.

Heh, yes it is! It looks like a lot of play.com customers and shopto customers will get theirs today. But I'm not gonna moan as long as mine turns up tomorrow. I can't ask for fairer than release day. Fingers, toes, arms, legs, crossed!
