It would be really great if HMX could say when RB is coming out in Europe sometime soon...ya know, just so people would know in good time.
Thanks for the great game anyway Harmonix.

All they know so far is that it won't be out until 2008. That's why so many people are seeing if it's region free, so they can import. Something for you to consider, also.

Does anyone know when we will know if it is region free? Will it only be possible to tell when the game is released in US? Im in UK but am going to US on hols over dec/jan and might pick it up while im there if I can play it back in the UK and if its not too bulky of course!

I'm assuming they'll let you know as soon as they've decided. I'm pretty sure even the US date was only decided upon about a week ago. My bet is that they still don't know exactly what day, so learn to live with 2008Q1.

it's released on Nov 23rd. Are you getting it for PS3 or 360? I've pre-ordered mine banking that it will be region free as pretty much every PS3 game has been so far, but as people have said in other threads, it could cause an issue with getting the downloadable content.
I imagine the box will be pretty bulky, not sure if it will the most pleasant experience lugging it around an airport, but think of end result! Everywhere has the european release date as just Q1 2008, which is any time between Jan and the end of March, but there's been no official word yet.

I was thinking of importing it, but additional fees (shipping and stuff) might add up to a large price, plus there's the region thing AND the chance of damaged goods etc...oh well
Thanks anyway guys:D
EDIT: Just checked amazon.com, and they don't ship to me, so if anyone knows a site that would ship it, please tell me. Thanks

Well we just found out about the U.S. release date about 2 months before the game comes out, so I suspect they wont say the European release date until 2 months before its release. Most likely I would think that means you wont hear about a release date until sometime in November at the earliest.

Like Notoriety said, ebgames will do it. Gamestop.com should too, but apparently they're the same company or something, the sites looks almost identical.
I e-mail them earlier today about international shipping of the RB bundle but obviously havnt heard back yet, hopefully by tomorrow though. I e-mailed them several weeks back and they said there is no problems they know of with shipping, but I'm not sure if they knew that the game comes in a huge, heavy box.

no they know alright, there's a bit at the bottom of the page saying that due to the size of the product there will be an extra $10 shipping charge.

Well thanks for the valuable input, but seriously, this particular comment doesn't really help things.
I set up this thread mainly because I AM being impatient, and, like a few other European people, am wondering when the game is coming out over here, or where I can import it from.

Well good luck on finding a release date soon. We only got an announcement 2 months before release. It's Q1 2008 in Europe last time I checked, so be happy with that because you're just going to worry yourself into a stupor if you expect any more.

Dude, if you're European and complain about release date it just ASKS for flames. I, and several other members, did a thread just like this lol. It went down BRILLIANTLY as you can guess:rolleyes:
We are to be exploited, America comes first etc. "we cannot create the number of equipments required for worldwide release" so why not just release it in tiny quanitites and do a Wii style make-everyone-want-the-game-but-its-out-of-stock-everywhere move. At least a few people would get it....
Just get used to it dude.

Well considering we are an American company... in America... who makes games natively in NTSC as opposed to PAL... I wouldn't so much call it "exploitation" which is clearly an exaggeration so much as the nature of making game international. It isn't as simple as pulling out a magic wand and yelling "Poof! Now you are ok for European release!"
I think you will notice, however, that as Europe starts actually courting more game developers instead of making it too expensive for long term growth you will see a lot more exclusives to Europe.
Oh - also not a fan of the VAT*.

Thx for the opinion. The word "exploit" was not used in conjuncture with HMX and Europe - it was a general term.
And yes, 17.5% is a bummer.

If there is localised content on disc, harmonix could be sitting on a goldmine. If they had each version region free for 360 (ps3 will be anyway) then your going to get people importing the other versions so they can have all the songs.
Harmonix will be happy because people will buy more than one copy of the game. Customers will be happy because they can import the game before European release date (and will probably buy the game on euro release too for the extra euro songs)
