Okay, this may be something really simple, but I'm really getting frustrated with this.
I recently got my wireless 360 guitar in the mail, and I've been trying to set it up. Problem is the damn guitar won't connect to my 360 console. I've been following the directions (as incredibly vague as they are), and tried probably a dozen times, but it doesn't seem to want to work.
Is it possible that there might be something wrong with my guitar, or am I just doing something wrong and being an idiot?
Apologies if this has been done to death already, but I couldn't find anything related in the search function, and I'm at my wits end with this thing.

Mine was waiting for me when I got home 45 minutes ago. I set it up per the instructions, and it appears to work. However, it will not connect wirelessly to the 360. I tried my GHIII wireless Les Paul, it connects fine. Tried my four different wireless Xbox controllers, they all connect. Okay, it came with bad batteries. I have plenty of new E2 AA batteries. Tried a new set out of an unopened package. No go. This is definitely a bad guitar. Went through online troubleshooting, it told me to call. Called and a very nice young lady is sending me a box. 5-7 days for the box. Ugh. After I send it back, it is 15 days plus or minus 10 more days to get it back. It is possible that I won't see a guitar until July. It is May 16th.
Please someone tell me you have a solution for this issue, so I don't have to go through this. Please?

Boy do *I* feel dumb. I called my daughter and she said to hold down the little white button on the front of the Xbox (with the system turned on) and then hold down the little white button on the guitar (with the guitar turned on) and suddenly everything works fine. I just got my highest score ever on Tom Sawyer with this bad boy.
See, I bought this for my daughter. I'm a computer guru, but I don't know consoles at all. So I buy her this wireless guitar while she is up visiting her mother (out of town) and I wanted to surprise her. I finally gave up and called her. She straightened me up right quick.
So, turn on the Xbox, turn on the guitar, hold the little white button on the Xbox, then hold the little connect button on the guitar. Done.

Still having the same issues. The light on the guitar just keeps blinking to no avail (have to take the batteries out just to shut it off).
I'm probably gonna just return it if I can't figure it out. Thanks for the help though.

Hitting the white buttons worked great for me, thank you for the help.

I can't even get my guitar to turn on. The button flashes once before just automatically turning off. I've tried putting in new batteries but that never worked. I'm pretty sure I have the same basic problem though. My guitar won't sync to the xbox.

After a few months I was able to find these steps that work on my system. Now I need someone to try it on theirs to confirm these steps as a universal solution.
The problem seems to be related to a timing issue so time is a big factor in this solution. You must go through all of these steps before the console stops searching otherwise you will need to start over.
Below are the exact steps that must be taken:
1. First turn on your Xbox and let it boot all the way up.
2. Now take the battery cover off the guitar and power it up.
(the battery cover removal will make sense in a moment)
3. After that hit the search button on the Xbox 360 console and the lights on the console should start to rotate.
4. Next start the search on the guitar.
5. Once the guitar lights start to animate quickly remove one of the batteries and put it back.
6. Now power up the guitar again.
7. Finally as soon as the guitar powers up hit the search button on the guitar and it should connect.
Note: all of this must be done before the Xbox stops its connection search.
If the console stops searching before you power the guitar up and search again you will need to start from the beginning.
