no Rock band isn't compatible with other Kits.

ALL the drums are is a controller. Whether it be 360 or PS3, it's just a controller, but shaped like a drum kit. Same with the guitar. Like, for example, the green drum head could be the A button, and the red drum head is the B button.

What? When did they announce that it won't be compatible? Last I heard they most most certainly looking at having that feature in the game. There was an interview with A-Rig a while back where he said it (on IGN, i think)

Yes, they're looking into it, but since they haven't released a MIDI->Rock Band adapter, there is no compatibility. Feel free to hack it in, however.

I have a feeling they may work it into an update later rather than worry about getting it all tested out before relase. The hitch is that there's so many midi to USB controllers out there that garunteeing each one to work would be tricky. i know druimmania only supported a certian line of roland v-drums when it came out in japan. I'm pretty sure something will get worked out eventually.

Yeah, "no Rock band isn't compatible with other Kits." just seems a little strong. They haven't made an announcement either way, and considering we know they were considering it saying an out right "no" is wrong.
