No if you want insane drums/cymbals you need look no further than Terry Bozzio:
http://www.h5.dion.ne.jp/~chikara/LOVELOG_IMG/200502169524d0e9.jpg
(they're all actually tuned to pitches so he can make melodies and chords)
Conventional rock drummers are fine and all, but for me it's gotta be the real masters: Gadd, Weckl, Colaiuta. <3

Plus Weckl's mullet is epic in that clip. (worth watching all of it btw, they trade 4s later on, and it's a religious experience to watch =)

Bozzio's set is just insanity....I remember the Modern Drummer article with it iand all the toms are mounted on plywood "racks" and all the heads are marked as to what pitch the drum is tuned to. Not to mention all those pedals and the kick drums/remote kicks and the rest of the drums attached.
The Peart main set has pretty much stayed the same over the years (he's with DW now). He has another set behind it with pads and electronic drums that he spins around to use during solos and stuff.
A few months ago MD did a Portnoy article and he's had a few crazy sets over the years, too...Tama's made some cool sets for his tribute bands (a Keith Moon set, a Bonham setm etc) and he's using an acrylic set that's pretty huge right now.

Damn, I'll be happy if I can master four pads and a single pedal!

Gadd totally shows up those other sucka MCs. Weckl and Colaiuta are fast, but they can't beat Gadd's groove.

Heck yes... Gadd has a genius ear for simple, tasty, dead-on-perfect grooves.
To their credit, Weckl and Coulaiuta are definitely capable of laying a pocket themselves. They just chose to show off the chops and the creativity (it's an interesting juxtaposition of styles too).

Australia has some great mullets. Also, Mike is good, but Virgil and Thomas are better.
