not my fault they're paying more for the game and then getting hit by the cost of all the dlc at once

I thought people who didn't import it actually get it with the game (maybe I'm mistaken...)
EDIT - I thought you meant just the NEW DLC...my bad...

Seeing as how FOB is part of Rock Band's DLC, it is more likely that I'll gnaw my own leg off than download all of it.
Anyway, I think I'll get about half of it, give or take. Not all at once, though, since getting the game alone will deal a hefty blow to my wallet.

PS3 Fanboy, no? Again, if HMX and EA didn't inflict region coding on the 360, mny more would have, be assured

As a UK Xbox 360 owner, I am waiting patiently for my Rock Band kit (fingers crossed it turns up thursday as Amazon often ship early to avoid missing delivery dates and sometimes the postman is overly efficient!)
But I've been getting ready for a while, and I bought 2100 MS points for DLC songs (that cost me £13 = $26) and it buys me 13 songs that I've already picked, so basically £1 a song, so $2, yet another small shafting on EA's part.
But no, I wont be buying all the DLC at launch, i had 2100, I've spent 2050 in my head, i was going to buy another 2100 until yesterdays announcement, now it can wait another week...

I'm not going to get all of the DLC, but there is a whole bunch I want. I'm planning to get a 2100 card, but I know that won't be enough.

If you are in the UK TESCO does the cheapest MS points at £13 for 2100, and if you order from TESCO Jersey, as gaming is exempt from tax, you can get them for £12.
Problem is they take about 1-2 weeks to arrive, but if you plan in advance you can save about £5 a go (2100 is typically about £18 in GAME, which is $36, I'm not sure what americans pay for 2100 points, but I doubt its as much as $36)

The Tesco Jersey thing doesn't work any more. It's just part of Tesco UK now.

Well, its nothing that consurns me. There will be enough songs on the disc to keep me busy for a while but with that being said I can see myself buying everything eventually

Where have you preordered from? I ordered from Amazon and im concerned that it wont arrive friday, and if thats the case, I can kiss good by to seeing it until monday! Since they ship seperate I'll get the torture of one arriveing before the other, the DVD coming in the standard post bag and the instruments coming in a delivery van. Life is cruel!

Out of curiosity, what does everyone plan to get on launch day? Or do you plan to play everything on the disc first?

Well, heres my purchase list for launch day:
"My Sharona" - The Knack
"Roxanne" - The Police
"Can't stand losing you" - The police
"Ever fallen in love" - Buzzcocks
"Brass in pocket" - The Pretenders
"Dirty Little Secret" - All-American Rejects
"All the Small Things" - Blink-182
"Don't Look Back in Anger" - Oasis
"Live Forever" - Oasis
"Wonderwall" - Oasis
"Message in a Bottle" - Police
"Call Me" - Blondie
"This Ain't a Scene, It's an Arms Race" - Fall Out Boy (Maybe)
Thats my launchday list, totalling at 2050 points, but I may not buy Arms Race simply because I think I'm old enough to head the words "God Damn" and I sure as hell wouldnt buy a CD with the word God censored out, what kind of christian phobic game is this where Kyles mom from southpark has the power to influence my game!? But the others are all good, unless someone wants to warn me otherwise?

It was announced yesterday that the full library would be available from the 20th insead now, meaning the Americans DLC is our 'bonus' content, and our DLC is the Americas past 6 month library...
Overall I'm just pleased I havent gotta wait until the 20th to get extra songs!

Those are good choices (Oasis is a great pack), but I notice for the Police and Classic rock pack you are only buying 2/3. I am not positive, but aren't the packs set up in a way that, by buying the pack, you get the third song for free? Actually, that might only apply in a six pack. Still, half-price isn't bad.

I think its done in such a way that you get each song for 160 or a 3 pack for 400, in which case you save 80 points on the third track, getting it half price. I can't remember what the third Police track was but I seem to recall not being overly impressed.

Synchroncity 2. It's definitely the odd one, but it's personally my favorite on guitar, and possibly vocals. I don't really like the drum line as much as the others, and like I said, it definitely sounds different then the other two, so it's all preference.
As for simple man... it's a very easy song, so if you don't like the song, definitely skip it.

That said I still dont see whats offensive about a god damn arms race. I respect that it could offend some people, but thats why we have age warnings and parental control features on the Xbox 360, I don't think a grown man or woman should have sensorship forced on them, ESPECIALLY over the word God Damn. Rediculous.

Yeah, there was a lot of questions about that a few weeks ago...apparently, it was the radio edit that was sent to them. It definitely sucks, since none of the charts really stand out on that song, and the party-worthy vocals are hindered by a pause every few seconds.

Well i got 11200 points stored up over many months waiting for this day to arrive. Still not enough to buy all tracks but about 70 or so.
Personally i think were getting a good deal, as novelty of playing around 140ish songs for release day is really going to take a long time to wear off.
Remember 140*4 if playing all instruments through there respective campaigns, thats a lot of playtime.

What the hell are you talking about? It's $2 a song in America too. You just like to ***** I guess.

The thing about This Ain't A Scene, It's An Arms Race that's hilarious is that El Scorchio by Weezer starts out saying "God Damn", so I have no idea why they would take that out of the Fall out Boy song when other DLC has that in it.

Welcome to the American way of thinking. So many people think we have this "Freedom" thing, but you can't when there is ALWAYS something that offends someone. The word GOD alone offends many people, then you have the other side where God Damn offends them. So all in all you can't win in this upside down country. Okay, I'm going to quit now because this is a very touchy subject for me that I brought up myself. Anyway, yes you are correct that it is VERY rediculous!

Problem I have is I'm scared they're gonna release some top DLC when I'm not prepared. I'm hoping that songs from the likes of Queen are gonna cost alot with not much profit on just the American market, but with the introduction of Europe buying DLC as well we will finally have some Freddy screaming out the telly!

The main thing I want to get is mainstream music that my girlfriend will enjoy playing as she's going to be my drummer and I want her to play as often as possible, and she doesn't really know much rock, only the stuff I've played around her.
I'll still rock through the solo tours, but mainly its gonna be like the wii, I only bought it so we could play together...
Have I missed any songs from my previous list that are mainstream lady pleasers?
