I'm planning on going to the Portland Rock Band Tour Bus on October 6th. Since I'm under 18, will me and my friends still be able to play?

I've been under the impression that even if you aren't 18 you can still play the game, but you can't enter the contest.

Is this correct?

I don't want to get hyped up over nothing.

Here's what it says, straight from the guidelines.

Eligibility: You must be a legal resident of the 50 United States and be at least 18 years of age to participate in Auditions (as hereinafter defined). If 18 is not the age of majority in the jurisdiction, in which you reside, you must obtain parental or legal guardian consent to be eligible to participate in Auditions. You cannot participate in an Audition if you are, or have an immediate family member, [parent, spouse, children, siblings, step-children and step siblings] employed by MTV Networks, a division of Viacom International Inc. ("MTVN"), or its affiliated companies, sponsors, subsidiaries and advertising agencies.

So, for the audition, you can play, you just need a parent. I'm not sure about just trying it out, though. I would assume it's the same rules, though.

I know that they check your ID before you can play on the stage, but I didn't see them checking it if you were just playing in the bus. Then again, I can't say that I was really paying much attention, sorry.

Considering there was a 10 year old kid (and others) playing at the Seattle gig, you should be okay. I'll be at the Portland stop on the 6th also.

Well one kid i played with was there from about 3-7 and he couldn't have been older than 12...The only thing is you can't audition, but nothing about not being able to play on the stage at the Seattle stop...I played with a little girl and her dad, and the girl must have been about 6...

I played with three kids who couldn't have been older then 13, and we were playing right on stage. You just have to be 18 to audition on camera.

Thanks everybody. I'm 15 so I shouldn't have many problems.

Let's hope it doesn't rain.

It was raining in Seattle. It's all good.. they've got it covered (literally and figuratively).
