PS3 controller on 360 or vice versa?

I'm really torn between the PS3 and X360 version of Rock Band since I'll be able to play with some friends on 360 over live, but like the wireless controller of the PS3 and the system in general (better build, quieter etc. imo). My question is, will the 360 or ps3 controllers be interchangeable between systems as they both use standard USB (except for the wireless one of course)? I'm mostly concerned with the drum kit, but would also like to use my existing GHII x360 controller on the PS3 for bass. Anyone know? I assume that they won't, but I'll leave it up to the experts to confirm or tell me otherwise.

thats actually interesting. i didn't know the ps3 used the standard USB things like the 360

No, sadly :(. HMX confirmed awhile ago that as much as they want to, they can't have console cross-compatibility, because the microsoft controllers require some special chips or something.

I think that this would be the same as trying to plug your 360 GH II controller into your PS3, it just isn't going to happen. :(

Well, I'm pretty much sold on the PS3 version of the game. I'll get GHIII for the 360 I suppose. Gotta play something on the PS3, it's just collecting dust at the moment ;P
