If Activision really releases the list of the bands that will be in GHIV, I think it would be smart for HMX to carefully pick off specific songs and bring them RB as DLC and release them before the actual release of GHIV.

It also wouldn't be a bad thing to make DLC of the entire list and release it over time.

I realized in doing this that I am definitely not qualified, for the vast majority of these bands, to actually pick songs that would work really well for a 4 instrument game. For some of the above, I just picked their biggest hits and didn't really think about how the song would work in relation to another of their songs.

In any case, I realize that the leaked band list definitely fills some gaps that I think are in Rock Band... but certainly does not blow it out of the water. I also notice from the list that the hardcore guitar guys that stuck with GH because of the difficulty level and guitar focused song choices are probably going to be sorely disappointed. By the time the game comes out RB will have a huge song library and GHIV will need to compete directly with RB... and most likely it will not have the "hardcore guitarist" edge to it. I'm going to call that a dumb move...
