Okay,
I got a small problem. How can I get my songs from my PS3 to my 360, I shouldn't have to spend twice the money for the same song -- For virtually the same game! Right?
Is there a fix to my issue. I can prove ownership of both systems and such.
Thanks,

hey, you never know, while its an odd case, i wouldn't just let it go, try calling EA, the customer service line, present your case, tell them you can give the proof of ownership of both consoles, and see what they can do.
unless its like, just a few songs, but if its ALOT of DLC, i'd say call them about it.
never hurts to try.

Yeah call up EA, they're customer service line is relatively nice. (Except for this one lady) Maybe they can credit you on the XBOX360. IDK.

You're going to have to buy it twice.
EA is not the one to credit MS points back to you, MS is. If you call them and tell them you paid Sony for the songs and want MS to give you credit as if they got any of that money, they will most likely laugh at you and hang up.

Well like my signature says I own 93 of the 103 songs. This Thursday (PSN) I will own 102 of 111 songs. I can't afford buying songs for two consoles to be able to play with friends, it sounds goofy they don't have special services available for unique instances.
They better help me, I am the guy who tells people to "f*** off" when people message me to give them my account info so they can get free songs. Damn cheap a**'s, LOL ^_^ But no, if I am not able to -- I will be mad, that's for sure! But you're aware the money doesn't goto MS, it's for Harmonics.

I made the same mistake as you, buying it for PS3. :) I would have considered re-buying the game for 360 after I heard about all the problems the PS3 version has, but by that time I'd already bought tons of DLC. There's no way Microsoft is going to give credit for content purchased on their competitor's system.

Sorry man but It aint going to work. My friend tried to do the exact same thing when he decided RB on the 360 was the way to go since most of his friends played that version. He only had 10 to 15 songs tops and they pretty much laughed at him and told him he would have to rebuy for the other system.

Oh that's cool, maybe if they were smart they've let you add credit cards. And off that credit card know what the hell you bought. Cause you can't fake that, who'd give someone else there info. Right, LOL!
This sucks!..

He never said it was a mistake. And minus online chat the versions are the same

The likelihood of this is about the same as getting MS to give you XBox copies of games that you bought on the PS3. Ain't gonna happen.
I own a lot of cassettes and VHS movies, they aren't going to replace them with CDs and DVDs for free even though I own the license to use the content. It's a different medium.

I think your missing the point on this.. It isnt that they dont trust you or as you say your giving the money to Harmonix.
Sony and MS get their cut out of the 1.99 or whatever per song. So technically the way it would need to be done is MS let you download the songs for free and have Sony cut them a check for it..... We all know it aint going to happen..
Its not MS or Sonys fault thats just the buisness of DLC.

I actually agree that you should be able to in theory, but it ain't going to happen. I'm actually in the opposite position, where I'm fairly dissatisfied with the 360, but have invested too much to switch over to a PS3. In theory, we have bought the music and should be able to use it on any system, however, neither M$ nor Sony are going to want to give up money on a theory. Bottom line is that the music has been converted to a proprietary standard and is console specific. There is a cost associated with that process, and therein is the reason they're going to make you re buy the same songs again. Plus in my case, they'd be losing a customer.

No, that's just my opinion as a PS3 owner, but was meant more as a joke because most of the shortcomings of the PS3 version don't bother me that much. Otherwise I wouldn't still be playing the game or buying DLC every week. The issues that are the fault of Harmonix, such as said lack of voice chat, will hopefully be fixed at some point to narrow the gap between the two versions.

This idea is like buying a a Blu-Ray DVD of Spiderman 3 and then going to a different store and wanting to get the HD-DVD version of Spiderman 3 for free or reduced or something.

I can't even get the songs I bought on my xbox transfered to my new xbox no matter what proof I offered, so good luck with PS3. ;P Honestly though, Xbox network will scream about licensing issues, so even if Harmonix would allow it, I'm sure Sony and/or Microsoft would not. Unfortunately you'll have to buy them again if you want them on a different system.

Exactly why this is not going to work. Neither HMX/MTV Games or EA are responsible for DLC purchase issues. The respective console manufacturers are responsible for content on their online platforms. While they are both consoles, they are different consoles. It is essentially different media.
The same thing would apply had you moved from the Xbox 360 to the PS3. It stinks, but that's capitalism for you.
Like Deeznutzs27 last said, it's the business of DLC.

Sure you can.. Assuming that the gamertag is the same on the new HD, just download them again.

Well, that depends. If he upgraded his 360 from, say, a core system to a pro or elite, then MS WILL NOT relicense his content. If it's a replacement, and the same type as the previous unit, then yes, call MS and they will relicense your content. A simple re-download will not work.

I was hoping it'd work. I want to go the other way,I'm sick of this p-o-s 360 as of today after finishing a song and getting a disc read error before the score saved, keeping it for RB and Fable 2 at this point and I guess the RB sequels. Only got it on 360 to begin with because the PSN prices were $1 more at the time in Canada and now it's the 360 songs that cost more.

Long story short for me... when I called Xbox live to find out the cost of what it would take to fix my X360 due to 2 major issues with it, they gave me the impression it'd cost over $300 to repair (US dollars too, so at the time I'd be more in Canadian slight). Also since I'm in Canada, they also said it'd take 6 to 8 weeks shipping. So I took some store credit I had, spent $100 more and just bought a new Elite. At the time I didn't know about issues with the DMC licensing problems and download content stuff. I honestly thought that since they had a CD and cable that you could transfer old content from the HD with, that it would be fine, so I didn't even think about it.
Since I was always connected to the net after transfering all my stuff to the new HD I never noticed until 6 weeks later (Easter) and I brought it to my friends house. Then I saw the problem.. called MS.. they won't do a damn thing cause I didn't send the old unit in for repairs. I argued the cost they quoted me, and the fact that no one even mentioned the DMC issues when I flat out told them I may as well buy a new 360 for that cost, and the guy was like "Oops, he was wrong its $120 for fixes across the board". But by then it was too late. (Course.. 2 days later my wireless adaptor broke too and I couldn't play ANY DLC I'd gotten before I bought the elite). It sucks, cause if I take it to a friends or the internet goes down for some reason, anything I got before March is unplayable, and I"m not paying for 50 odd songs all over again when I bought them in the first place.
This is the only thing I REALLY hate about Microsoft right now, and about the only reason I'd push for people to buy a ps3. :(

Yeah, I really don't understand Microsofts position on not transferring the license of DLC for those that choose to give them more money.
As for the repair issue, the best thing to do is get it from somewhere like Best Buy and get an extended warranty. That's what I did. When I get a RROD (2 so far) I just take it back and get another on the spot. When you call MS for the relicense, they'll just ask that you fax them the receipt so they can verify that it was a return, and no upgrade took place.
