One question my wife actually posed to me was, will we be able to play ROck Band in world tour mode with anything but a static group of people?

For example, I create a band of four people; me, my wife, my cousin, and his wife. We play Rock Band at his house on his 360. I go back home, and my wife and I want to play on our 360. Will we be able to play world tour mode with them? Will they be able to play world tour without us in the same band?

Or is world tour local play only, with the same band members only?

If I'm not mistaken (and if I am someone will correct me), you can play online with your buddies in said mode. Thats why that option is there.

i think it pretty much boils down to whether or not your gamertag can be in more than one band or if members can join a band after it's been created... which hasn't been announced yet.
but still... it's the same band you're in both locally and online, so i think you can be 98% certain you'll be in the clear!

Actually, I don't think your online tag will make a difference. Its more of a login and stats/achievements tracker. I would think you could make multiple bands for certain members. Example : Band 1 for you and your friends, Band 2 for online friends. Thats what I would expect.

If you are tied down to specific band members, does your band have a leader that can boot people from the band? That would be pretty funny!

Heh, there are actually are band leaders. :)

I'm sure Harmonix has a good plan for this. Hopefully it isn't too hard to figure out.

I know it's confirmed that you can play online, offline, or a mixture of both for any multiplayer mode.

I also believe it was said that you can be in multiple bands. As long as you complete an achievement in any band, you'll get that achievement.

Now we just have to wait for confirmation about the makeup of individual bands.

Like if there are 3/4 of us there, can we still play? What happens if we play a show in Tokyo to get the "Big in Japan" achievement, does the off line player get the achievement? Very interested to see HMX's solution.

They said you only need 2 or more players to do Band mode. Let me check to see if it meant just Quick Play or World Tour too. I think it's both. I'll repost in a sec.

I know that. Let's say I make a 4 person band, and the singer isn't available one night. Will the rest of us be able to continue, or do we need to either start a new band for the 3 of us or switch to quickplay. Also, what if we kick the singer out over "creative differences", can we replace him with a new 4th player?

Again, it's not an issue with the base game play, it's the special cases that could be a problem.

I just went through 11 pages of Hmxsean posts and can't find it.

But to answer your question, yes. You can have a full band, but if one person isn't on, you can still continue your Tour with just 3 people. As far as I know you can add another person to play with your band too. As long as you have at least 2 people playing you can continue the tour.

I don't think the bands will be as concrete as people think they are. What I believe, is that you'll have a Band, with it's band name, it's own accomplishments and overall score. But at the same time, you don't have to have permanent band members, in which you can just log on and play with whom you choose. It does not have to be the same 4 people all the time. But you will play under that band's profile as long as you got invited, or started, the band.

Does that make sense?
