Hello all, wanted to say that I think the wireless instruments are a great idea and got a chance to try the wireless guitar, which I subsequently broke the whammy bar on (I think I broke the spring mechanism under the bar itself, because it still functions, but it just stays in the "on" position.)
Anyway, I couldn't help but notice the conspicuous lack of a wireless microphone. Now to a degree, I can understand that. I don't understand the electrical engineering behind a functioning wireless device, and transmitting the signal coming from the microphone and synching it with the rest of the band must be a terribly complex procedure. In addition, as I'm typing this, I realize that an Xbox can only support 4 different "controlers" (2 guitars, 1 drum kit and the controler for the singer).
So that means that a wireless microphone could only happen one of two ways. 1) The microphone would be incredibly bulky because it would need the ability to move through the menus, accept or reject menu options, pause/start the game, etc. This means a minimum of a D-pad and 3 buttons, all compressed in a comfortable handheld mic, along with the wireless transmitter. This would be unlikely.
Option 2 is the one that I think might help me. I believe that I have seen on the loading screens that any USB microphone should be compatible with rock band. All I would need to do would be find a wireless USB microphone that I liked. The trouble is that a web search has turned up nothing (nothing as nice as the Rock Band mic anyway).
My question is, has anyone had any luck finding a wireless mic that they liked and was compatible with rock band.
