Has anyone built an automatic whammy device yet?

I use my hand? Why is automatically whammying necessary?

That would be great, I hate using my whammy when it's not long notes because it's so uncomfortable for me. I whammy very strangely and can't do those short white note holds, so annoying not being able to squeeze all the overdrive available.
Side note, are there any advice or tricks to use it. Like suggestions, videos help cause I am clueless! :D

Oh please, God, no! People that whammy every note need to be dragged out into the street and beaten. LOL J/K, but it is annoying. :)

why do you need a auto whammy? its not like it gives you anymore points

yes it has been made. in a similar fashion machines have been made to hit every note with very high accuracy. You can pretty much make anything you need to, the downside of course being that you are taken away from the game itself and its not very fun, competitive or fair.
the short version. Yes it's made, its foolish, but it exists.

Probably to squeeze out every last possible bit of overdrive from energy notes...
and THAT gives you more points. ;)

Exactly. (And I just agreed with HeadHunter on something... probably a sign of the apocalypse. But I digress)
Actually, what would be cool is to have the whammy controls broken out into a foot pedal, so you could on-command whammy certain notes and not have to deal with the bar itself...

In the same way that people have created overdrive pedals, I wonder how easy it would be to create a whammy pedal...

i don't know about you guys (as cool as it would be to have another foot peddle for the guitar) i can whammy way faster with my fingers then i can bend my ankle back and forth.

I invariably mess something up as I'm reaching for the wammy bar. :)

i broke my whammy so it doesnt spring back anymore and that has been the best blessing for me. I just keep the bar under my wrist the entire time and move it when needed, so i never ever have to change my hand position from strumming to reach for it. It also means I can start hitting the bar faster than I used to be able to. I'm not saying go out and break the bar or that that particular way works for everyone, but it did help me out an awful lot

That's easily fixed with a rubber band you know. But I guess since you prefer it that way, it doesn't matter.

I've got a PS2 pedal that has whammy and overdrive on it... but it's not really easier to use than the controller. I always have difficulty finding exactly where it is when I need it, without looking down (I almost always play standing) and if I take my eyes off the screen, it's going to break my streak too.
So I don't use the pedal too often.

I built a device that I installed into a GHIII controller.
I don't like to whammy every note either, but it insures that I get all
of the overdrive/starpower, and I miss fewer notes because I'm not
fooling around with the whammy bar like a mad man. It can be turned on before long overdrive notes then turned off.

My whammy works automatically, but sometimes I wish it wouldn't. Standing up after a long meeting at work can sometimes be quite embarassing. :)

I don't know about the whammy bar, but my dog work's the bass pedal for me on expert.

Does anyone know if they have anything that will play the game for me?

haha whats the point of having the game then? you'd be paying to watch a video is all... If you want to pay me to come out to wherever you live I would be more than happy to go and play the game for you....
(and if for some reason your serious about this, yes people have built things that will correctly register the notes for them to a high degree of accuracy, ruining the competitive balance and fair play of the game, when used with online leaderboards...)
