Nice little article that validates Alex's vision of discovering and promoting acts through Rock Band:

Cool article. I love that Bang Camaro got famous from GH II, and they deserve it, amazing band, I love their music.

I really love the bonus songs in GH and soon to be Rock Band because of this, you get a great taste of good mostly unknown bands.

There were a couple of interviews with Little Steven that pretty much confirmed they were hoping to find unknowns and try to kick start their musical career.

Good to see Bang Camaro doin' well too, their stuff is pretty damn sweet.

Ya, It really is the perfect storm of In-game advertising and finding your core audience all in one place. Great for both sides really because the in game advertising is 100% non-intrusive. As opposed to Master Chief drinking Game Fuel to get his power back. :D

I always enjoyed the indie bands even more than the main setlist.

Don't get me wrong The Who, The Hives, Jet, Red Hot Chili Peppers, these are some of my favorite bands ever but you really feel like you're playing a labor of love when they go that extra mile.

Camaro's popularity should grow in November when one of its songs appears in "Guitar Hero 3." Better, Bennett's movements and figure will serve as the role model for the animated guitar figure in another upcoming game, "Rock Band."

Camaro is having a song in Guitar Hero III? That doesn't sound right. I thought RedOctane never asked any of the HMX bands back for the third game. I wonder what's going on.

Also, GH3 comes out in October. Also the entire article is poorly written. I call BS for now.

Yeah, that article just wasn't all that well written. It's clear that the author isn't really all that familiar with the games, the relationship between the companies and IPs. Normally I wouldn't mind, as it does get a little complex, but this isn't just some blog, this is a professional journalist. The least he should do is get his facts right.

Bang Camaro wasn't the only unknown band to be "squeezed" into the game.

The author fails to note early on that one of the co-founders is a Harmonix employee. He notes it at the end, but it's almost in passing. To me, that has quite a bit to do with the story.

And yeah, Bang Camaro isn't going to be on GHIII.

Poorly written article.
