Ps2 Vs 360 Gh1.

So I've officially decided I'm going to get the 360 instead of the PS3 (Please, no comments about that in this thread PS3 fanbois, its nothing against your precious PS3, it was a very hard decision). But, i do have a question. I have GH1&2 on my PS2, but i was thinking about selling them to get GH2 on the xbox as the HO/POs absolutely suck on PS2 for GH1 and from what I understand, they were updated on Xbox with the DLC. What do you guys think? Sell my games and get GH2/DLC for 360?

Not getting a PS3? You hurt jayqueue's feelings :( lol. Yeah, they seemed to package one of the great songs with 2 mediocre to bad songs according to the consensus. If I were you I would definitely get the GH2 for the 360 but I wouldn't sink too much money into the DLC. Maybe buy one pack that you like.

Well i just re-bought GH1, I had it when i was living with a room-mate, but now that I'm on my own, i'm having to rebuy everything. I now have GH1, 2 and the PS2. But really, the songs I enjoy a lot on GH1 are Hey You, Crossroads, BATM, Godzilla, and Frankenstein. As long as those songs are DLC i'd consider getting rid of PS2 GH1.

Keep your PS2 and the GHI. It's totally worth it but if you have the cash lying around the GHI DLC is worth it too. I know I'll get shot for saying that but the first three packs were decent. Especially getting to play bass for Higher Ground and Ace of Spades.

Pros: GH2 HoPos make GH1 tracks like 100x more fun. BATM/Frankenstein are a totally different beast when you have an engine that can handle it.

Cons: Only 12 GH1 songs have been ported to GH2. Notably absent is Godzilla, Texas Flood, Symphony of Destruction, and various others.



At this time of year, lots of people are trading in games/hardware, so you might have a difficult time getting good trade value out of your old stuff. On the flipside, you can take advantage of the situation to score a good deal on GH2... new copies are being clearanced out (like $70 last I checked at a local Best Buy) and people are trading in their used GH2 360 towards new things.

Another option out there is the PC emulator Guitar Zero, which can play GH1 and GH80s songs on the PC and with the 360 controller. It's not the best but it has near GH2 like ho-pos for the occasional bug to play GH1.

Yeah , i was thinking about it.. I saw at the Gamestop here in bellevue that they had a used 360 guitar for 25 and the game used for 35.

I played Godzilla on Frets on Fire. When you can use HO/PO, the solo is like the most badass thing in the world to play.

Even if they did have all of GH 1 it'd come out to like $110 so should probably keep the PS2.

I'd say keep the GH1 + guitar, there are some songs that I really want to play on GH1 but I don't have it anymore =\ Before I sold it to a friend I tried some songs out on Guitar Zero and man. That's a really good engine, much better than Frets. Anyway, When I got my 360 I played a lot of GHII and wanted to go back and play GH1, I really regret selling it.

ON the serious side, why get rid of your PS2. I kept mine when I got my PS3. GH & GHII are totally worth keeping it. You're not going to be able to play all the tracks from GH and plus the HO/PO's aren't that big of an issue. Maybe all of you should revisit GH. The HO/PO's are not harder per'se, just more technical. Wussies!

Dude they're nearly nonexistent. I play it daily (like I do GHII and will soon do the same with GHIII).

Gh2 for 360 is ****ty.. I cant play nearly as well as GH2 on ps2.. Maybe thats just me but.. Raider sold his for 360 for reasons close to mine.

I would probably buy it when it comes out but I'm saving the money for the 360. I'm working 84 hours in this one week, so two paychecks in one on halloween. Yippee. Buying a 360, wireless nic, and a new GFX card for my PC :D there goes that paycheck. lol.
