Nope, sorry bro. You'll have to get the stool seperate. They're only like, 10 bucks at your local superstore, so no worries.

I'm going to sit up in my recliner. Then after I rock out a song on medium with the drums. I can just recline my feet up and enjoy the fruits of my labor.

I actually asked this one when I was talking to John last weekend. I figured it would be a no, and I was right. He did say that they're considering making them available for purchase separately. The ones that they had at the show were pretty nice, I'd pay for one.

150 for a stool... Yeah I think i'll stick with a normal padded one for like 10$ lol. I don't think i'll ever be so addicted to Rock Band I'll want to dish out the price for a stool for the price of the game :p

Well, as for the online question, yes. You can have a couple people on the same console, and a couple online. Really any combination:
1 on console, 3 online
2 on console, 2 online
3 on console, 1 online
4 on console
Or like, if you just wanted a drum-guitar-singer trio thing going on, you can do any combination there.
As for the question on the guitars, Activision and Harmonix just decided to not have compatible controllers. Like, say you pressed the Orange button on the Les Paul, that might trigger the "A" button, but on the Strat, it might trigger the "X" button. That's just an example, but you get my point.

Heh, then RB should have a controller setting called "Stupid Controls That You Shouldn't Be Using" to make the Les Paul work.
It couls be linked to an achievement, too. "Traitor! - Beat a song using stupid controls"

That kind of setup would be super-easy for Harmonix to support in an online update, probably by the time Rock Band is launched. Go to options, select alternate controller support, and the buttons remap.
I don't know about Sony, but Microsoft has published standards for how guitar controllers should work. Guitars will be interoperable for everyone who supports them, and Harmonix says they will support them.
If Activision is serious about preventing other games from using their controllers, it may rely on some sort of handshaking protocol in the guitar hardware. For example, the first time you hit the strum-bar, it asks the game what the passcode is. If the game does not send the correct response, it stops sending the correct signal for future strums.
I have to admit, though, it's not immediately obvious to me how Activision would prevent other controllers from working with their game. If they are supporting the Xplorer in their game, and the Fender supports the same standards, I'd think it would be difficult to detect and lock out the Fender.
And in the end, it may be counterproductive for Activision to lock the Les Paul into GH3. If I am trying to decide between a Fender and a Les Paul, and the Fender works on all games, and the Les Paul is locked out of Rock Band, I am going to go with the Fender.

So third party controllers will be GH3 or RB only.Real nice!!Good way to make us spend more money if you want both games. So we have to pay for there rivalry!

The guitars have not YET been decided to be compatible. I'm sorry, I'll still think this will be addressed with a game update as soon as possible.
