Okay this going in the guide.

Are these hometowns or just the venue locations? I think he's asking about the hometowns for when you create a character.

Where's Nashville :(! We are the music capital of the world and we don't even get a hometown!

Akaymay, having both lived Jersey, you know most people would rather lie and say they're from Berlin. :p

I am surprised all the states can't get a hometown though.

They should, at the very least, have 50 hometowns that are USA originated. 1 hometown for every state capital. That way, no one gets fully left out.

I don't know, as of next year, Indiana really doesn't even have a good venue. They're tearing down our old one because the people in the community think it's a nuisance. I guess it's not that big of a deal, half the good bands just skip over us anyway.

I assume you say this because you're from Raleigh? :p

If they picked an NC town, it'd more likely be Charlotte. I would think.

They can do more than 1 per state though, since its unlikely that they'd need a city in Idaho, Alaska, Hawaii, Montana, No/So Dakota, etc. I don't think a single person in those states plays video games. But I could be wrong.

How hard would it be to put every major city as a hometown or at least allow a type in answer. That current section is pretty weak.

Tokyo seems to be missing from the hometown list though.

My guess as to why there is a limited (as of this date) number of hometowns is this. I would imagine that there is some sort of a story/point/scoring element that has to do with a hometown concert. You would have to be able to play in that town for it to work.

On the other hand, there is that piece of info (true or not) reading somewhere about there being 40 different venues. Who knows.

In an interview Alex mentioned that choosing your hometown actually selects your initial venues when you start the campaign.

Therefore, they have a limited number of hometowns because they need a venue (or two, or three?) for you to begin your campaign in.

If the hometown was just an insignificant field that had no impact on the game, they'd just let you type in whatever you wanted.

I can't believe that Sacramento isn't on here... Sacramento's had one of the most vibrant music scenes in the country, from the small clubs up to headlining acts. If it's not available, I'm gonna' be kinda' bummed.

They have New York (but there's no way they wouldn't do their personal hometown of Boston.)

London, Paris, Rome, Stockholm, Amsterdam and Berlin are in but nothing from Australia or even Canada?

I guess the reason is because you have to travel the continent before you go world wide. Europe and the US both have a bunch of venues where as all Australia would have is Sydney.

Most of you have 6 choices that at least represent your country, your doin pretty good.

Couldn't they have an initial generic venue to start, like a basement and then send the band off to the closest regional venue to continue the tour.

:sigh:

Not one Canadian city. Boston forgetting an original six city...

Only London.......:(
Manchester, Liverpool, Birmingham.........Coventry.......there are so many legendary homes of music bands in england.

Well, as long as they put in a pub venue, at least I can pretend its in Manchester.
