After they canceled the previous 3 Pittsburgh dates last week, I was really looking forward to waking up early today and heading to the Hard Rock Cafe to play Rock Band.
Except not.
As soon as I walked in the door of the Hard Rock Cafe and said I was there for the event, they said it was canceled. I said, "I wasn't informed of this" and they replied, "Neither were we until now."
I feel like Christmas was just canceled. :( Can someone explain what happened and if there is some way to return to the Steel City on another leg of this tour?
P.S. Anyone have an extra T-shirt and set of drumsticks they are willing to part with? I'd at least like to have a souvenir.

The updated list is pretty drastically altered from the original.
Baltimore will only have one day not the original weekend. WTF?

Last night it only said the 28th.
The site is playing Jedi mind tricks. It's not the first time.

Wow.... OK. Somehow another Pittsburgh event snuck onto the schedule without me noticing.
Pittsburgh, PA
NFL Game - Pittsburgh Steelers vs. Seattle Seahawks
9:00 AM - 2:00 PM
The Steelers Experience @ Heinz Field - on Art Rooney Ave. (between parking lots and stadium)
I MISSED IT. I just haven't had much luck, have I?

Last thing I'm gonna say on this subject before I clam up:
If I had known that there was a last-minute addition of the Heinz Field event, I could have driven there straight from the Hard Rock Cafe - it's only 2 miles away. But I didn't even see this posted to the schedule until like an hour ago.
Perhaps there needs to be an e-mail me reminders link on the page? That way, if I subscribe interest in events in a certain city, it will notify me of additions, cancelations, or it will just remind me that something is upcoming. I'm so disappointed that for lack of a better of way tracking the tour schedule, I missed my one and only shot at previewing the game.

Most of us were there and waited two hours before receiving any confirmation of the move. The site still said Hard Rock while we were waiting at Hard Rock at 11 a.m. -- it was planned to be set up from 5:30 a.m. and finished for gamers to try out at 9:30 a.m.
I wish someone told somebody. Not even the HRC owner knew what was going on.

Why did so many cancelations happen in Pittsburgh? I'm still amazed 4 planned events never took place.

Ooh, ooh, I was part of the said "Most of us", I just had to make an account for this! Yeah, it was pretty hectic today.
My group got to Station Square at around 8:30 (We're at Pitt, so that involved a bus ride and the T, thank goodness we get public transportation for free), walked around, wondering if the truck was late. 9:15 or so, some more people sitting in front of the Hard Rock Café noticed us (I'm pretty sure Rob was one of them), and we talked about the situation. Anyway, what I think it was, There was a contract with one of the local radio stations, but the radio station backed out, so they went to another one, at Heinz Field. It was supposed to go on in both places, but due to the contract fallout (On Friday, the station tried to re-do it, but it was too late, the contracts couldn't be written up in time, thus them not leting us know, since it was still up in the air at the last minute), and a lack of communication, it wasn't relayed to us. We can all agree on one thing. This is not Harmonix's fault, all the people on the tour are AWESOME people. But anyway, once we found out it was at Heinz field, we ran to the Gateway Clipper. What a situation, literally every one of us, pair of blue jeans and a black shirt, but we still were the only ones on the boat NOT wearing Steelers garb. Least we fit in well enough! But we found the truck, and life was good.
As Rob put it, we played Rock Band (And I ROCK on Dani California expert on Drums, but Tom Sawyer is REALLY, REALLY hard), and it was GEWD.I can-NOT wait for this game to be released.

that's the address for a publicly managable/accessible Rock Band East Tour dates. I started it last night. most of us check the tour stops daily so changes like that can be easily shown here and as people here stuff at the tour stops themselves maybe that can help to shed a little more light

Sukz u didnt make it dude, i kno we've been talkin bout the dates and cancelations. Me and my buddy got down to the Hard Rock around 11:30, but fortunately i knew they were also gonna be at Heinz Field. But by the time we got over via the ferry, we only got a good solid hr of play time. It was still worth it, evn tho its was shortlived. They had that listed, tho, like 5 days ago. Ur slippin man!

I guess I figured they wouldn't be adding anything after the Hard Rock Cafe event. And when I would notice the event listed after it on the schedule was something in Portland, I figured that was it for Pittsburgh and didn't bother to scroll anymore. So, yeah. I ****ed myself.
I'm just curious: were any of the Hard Rock Cafe staff made aware of the event that was going on at Heinz Field? Because I wished they had told me about it when I asked.

Yep, just like I said before, the RB tour planners really dropped the ball. I'm sure Pittsburgh won't be the only city that gets screwed over over the course of this tour. Another beef I have is that they have a live band towards the end of each demo. I doubt anybody cares about seeing a no-name band perform and waste valuable RockBand playing time. If they're so concerned about promoting crappy bands, a complimentary demo CD would do just fine.

Yeah, be thankful you are around one of the tour places. I live in NC so I don't get anything come by here often.. The closest I could go to is the Georgia date, but that comes on Nov. 27th, I'll have the game by then. =\ Be thankful you'll be able to try the game before it releases, everyone outside of, what apparently HMX wants to call big tour spots, is getting shafted. Look through th list, you'll only see almost only CA. That's favoritism.

I'll be @ UPenn the weekend of the 20th. I wouldn't miss this for anything. Especially because I'm getting dragged to FaerieCon this weekend.
