What do you think about what music should be on the game? More old stuff 80's and 90's or more current stuff?
I think there should be more current stuff cause that's what i play on actual guitar. I want songs i know that are fun to play. But that doesnt mean i think the older stuff should be completely left out either.
So What do you think?

Well, I want it to be a mix between old and new songs. But I definitely prefer old songs, rock was way better back then than now.

Why not a good mix of both? There's plenty of good rock stuff from the last 50 years, why focus on one particular section of it?

I'd definitely prefer the majority be old songs, personally.. I know jack all of the current stuff.
Plus the older songs is the only stuff that can say it's stood the test of time and still holds up.. which has the great bonus of not only being familiar with the adults, but the teens likewise (which I feel is pretty important for Karaoke). Doesn't work in reverse quite to the same extent.
Of course, then the question is.. current as in music that was released currently.. or current as in what's currently popular? If Harmonix wants to surprise me with some recent gems that have been hiding under boxes, I'm all for it.. not so much for the flavor-of-the-month approach (even though I realize you've gotta keep everyone happy)

Yeah, definately both old and new. There's a lot of awesome older stuff out there and also some really good new stuff.
As long as new stuff doesnt mean bands like 'Fallout Boy' and 'Panic and the Disco' etc, I'm happy.

Who defines 80s and 90s as old stuff?

I think that there should be more of the 80's and 90's music in the game. I say this because thats what I play on my guitar when I have time to play. I also think that there are a lot of great 80's songs with guitar solos and great guitar parts.

I personally like newer stuff. I don't think much of the mid 80's music. Alot of the hair bands just don't appeal to me. Now farther back into the late 60's and 70's is good music. I'd prefer mid 90's to the present. I just think that stuff is much better.

I think so too. The 70's , to me, were better than the 80's. But there were some good songs from the 80's. Overall I think the best music has been made within my generation.

I think there should be an even balance between the eras, with maybe a smaller number of 80s songs. I can only name a handful of good ones, and of those, all of them have been Guitar Hero'd but Crazy Train, which is basically a shoe-in for GHIII. The 4 songs confirmed so far seem to be doing pretty good on that front.

I think that would be the best thing.

I'd todally like to see a healthy mix across all genres and all eras, from the 50's to current
No gay emo though please...
