I was "inspired" to make this thread after I went to Six Flags Great Adventure today and finally rode Kingda Ka. I have to say that I think it could be the best roller coaster in the world. Then again, I haven't rode every other one in the world, but the numbers on Kingda Ka speak for themselves. I mean, I was shaking when I got off of it from the adrenaline rush. What do you guys think the best coaster is? I'm interested to know.

Rockin rollercoaster was cool, i'm not an aerosmith fan though but I imagine anyone who is really would like it. Other than that, I've gotta say my favorite is the Mamba based out of Kansas City's Worlds of Fun.

I go on that coaster like, once a year at least. I love that one, so creepy.

Yeah, 310 feet tall, 80 degree vertical first drop, first hill is banked 122 degrees. Also, it has a cable lift system so it goes about 2x faster and is silent :D
I just rode Renegade at Valley Faire near Minneapolis, and it was the best wooden coaster ever. It's constantly banking, even on the straights. There wasn't a single significant drop that wasn't banked and turning. The best part was the cars were well padded, so when you got thrown against the side it didn't hurt.

Stealth, Thorpe Park. I've been around the world, and nothing has entertained me so much in 14 seconds. Incredible.

I didn't want to make a new thread after seeing this one~ so I'm going to revive it.
I have to say Kingda Ka takes the cake for me. It was incredibly awesome. I really want to go back to Six Flags Great Adventure.
Best wooden coaster~ The Cyclone at Coney Island. What can I say, it's a classic.
I haven't ridden El Toro though ...
I worked in Dorney Park last summer~ not gonna go back to work there~ but they have some cool coasters. I worked at Hydra so I was able to do the test ride before the park opened. I always rode in the back row~ Best part of my day. It was also cool walking the lift hill. I would get to the top and just sit down~ relax, and enjoy the view.
Talon is also awesome, just might be my favorite coaster there. Voodoo, the coaster they opened last year, was cool but it didn't really satisfy me. They took down The Laser after the park closed for the year~ I'm hoping they can make an even more awesome coaster there instead.

I'm partial to The Big Bad Wolf myself. Haven't gotten to try The Griffin yet though.
Busch Gardens Europe, for the record.
Edit: And of course, Nessie is a classic.

The Laser almost gave me whiplash the one time I rode it. That was the only coaster I've been on that I didn't like.
Steel Force though...one of the all-time greatest coasters, IMO. I wish I lived just a little closer; I'd be out there all the time.
I've yet to go on Kingda Ka, and Great Adventure is only about an hour away from me. It's pretty sad, actually.

I've only really been to two amusement parks...Six Flags Kentucky Kingdom (Louisvlle, KY) and Kings Island (outside Cincinnati, OH). Though between those two parks, "The Vortex" at Kings Island was my favorite.

Agreed. I rode this in the front seat, it's pretty crazy once you start going down the first drop.

I like the "Superman" at Six Flag's Darrien Lake. They need to add some loops to it, but the first hill is stright down in the center and you get to feel weightlessness for about 4 seconds. The speed of the thing is pretty cool.

El Toro. Hands down.
Get the back row and that is one of the most powerful rides in the park. Hell, if it wasn't for Kingda Ka's tower being straight up, it'd be the steepest ride in the park. I wish I got to go more often, though; I'm not paying $60 for one day of fun.

Either Montu at Busch Gardens in Tampa, FL, or Dueling Dragons at Islands of Adventure in Orlando
Actually yeah, definitely the latter

On my first and only visit this thing wasn't finished yet, darn it... and it doesn't look like I'll be back in those parts any time soon.
Cedar Point as a whole was a blast, though. I think the Mantis was my favorite of the coasters they had at the time.

Whoever said they didn't like Laser, I agree. I felt really light-headed after riding that. And I freakin love rollercoasters. I think also at Dorney Park, Talon I think. That was awesome. My friends and I rode first row... it was crazy.

The Millennium Force at Cedar Point. I'm lucky enough to live 45 mins away and go there every year. :D
It's not too short like the Dragster. It's just pure awesome.

There was a Superman themed ride at the Kentucky Six Flags. It doesn't qualify as a roller coaster, but I always enjoyed it. It is no more (http://www.nypost.com/seven/06222007/news/nationalnews/six_flags_horror_nationalnews_.htm), however.
As for Roller Coasters, there's a standing roller coaster with a name I forget at the same park. It makes for good times, save for the crotch smashing safety equipment. Roller coasters give me a thrill like few other things, but I don't travel much, so my experience is limited.

Yup. They designed it for maximum G force just so that they could make skimpy restraints. Not cool. :(
As for Talon, it's OK. Not too different from any other inverted coaster I've been on.
