Any of you Wii owners have this yet? We got ours a few days ago, and it's not too bad. Lots of fun stuff in there - my little girl loves the ski jumping and yoga.

The tightrope walking is hard as hell!

Don't have it, though I might get it soon.

I was planning on buying a Wii just for the Wii Fit so I could get back up to shape after my recovery.

Recommendeded? :p

did it tell your little girl that she was overweight? it's gotten a few complaints for doing that

From what I've seen of it so, far - it's definitely worth it. I'm VERY glad I preordered it, as I haven't seen any in stores around here (OK, Wal-Mart) since the release.

It basically keeps a record of your progress, both body-mass and weight, keeps track of your balance, etc. There are four main areas - Aerobics (jogging, hula hoops, step workout, etc), Balance (ski slalom, tightrope, ski jump, etc), Strength (push-ups, lunges, rowing squats, etc), and yoga (i don't know the positions names, but there are a bunch). As you get better and better at your exercises, you unlock more exercises.

The thing even asks you where you've been if you don't use it for a couple of days!

And oh yeah, if it thinks you're a little chunky, your Mii will reflect it. My Wii Fit Mii is one fat bastard!

But, I'm starting to get addicted. It actually does make getting your butt off the couch fun, at least for us around here.

It actually said she was underweight. It told my wife she was overweight, and she nearly developed heat vision! But she felt better when I climbed on and it told me I was overweight too. Misery loves company, I guess :D

Haha I'll probably be pretty overweight also. :p It's ok guys.

Ok, thanks for the information. :) I think I'll get it!

I also liked that Nintendo made 2 versions of the Balance Board. An 'Eastern" model that has a max weight limit of 300lbs and a "Western" version that can support up to 330lbs...

I certainly do want to get Wii Fit but I intentionally did not pre-order it since I have to get my own damn spending under control :( but oooohhh temptation is EVERYWHERE!!!

My sister is set on getting the Wii Fit, seems like a waste of money to me, then again I guess it could be fun (for a while). I will definetly try out once she buys it.

Only a 30 pound difference?

They should have made the Western one support 400 pounds.

Aparently some people are taking Wii Fit's weight calculations a bit too seriously!!

I think part of the onus is on the parents to explain to the child that the machine doesn't know everything.

Ah cool to see some good words about Wii Fit. Saw commercials on it and it looked appealing to both me and my roomie. I don't expect it to give me much of a cardio workout but it's better than nothing, and it does seem a lot more fun than keeping track and forcing yourself (w/o a game) to exercise on your own. x3 It'd be kinda neat if they added tai chi into its list of activities though.

I haven't seen it in stores yet (haven't really looked) but this looks like a good purchase. :)

I agree. I got mine last week and it is fun to play. The goals you can set and the additional activities you can unlock are good because you get an incentive to play.

it seemed somewhat appropriate to the topic... :p

(and there's a set of RB drums in the background, so it's even more appropriate to these forums)
