Next GTA (after IV) and L.A. Noire to be PS3 exclusive

"According to the November 2007 issue # 76 of the Official Xbox Magazine Sony has secured the next Grand Theft Auto, which would be number 7 in the series, to be a true exclusive to the Playstation 3.

Good thing i'm not a fanboy, or I'd be SOL. I really hope GTAIV is a "new" feeling and not just some cheap remake of GTASA & GTAVCS combined.

By the time that game comes out in 2009 or 2010, the Playstation 3:

1: Will actually have games.
2. Will cost under $300.

I saw "to be PS3 exclusive" and worried. Then I saw L.A. Noire, which was reported about being PS3 exclusive at E3 BEFORE LAST I must add. Then GTA? Never really got it. I played GTA3, San Andreas, Vice City Stories, never really enjoyed any of em. I much preferred the "jump 50 feet at a time and drop down 500 feet and survive" Crackdown.

Oh believe me, if the PS3 GTA went up against what I'm calling the Xbox 720 with Halo 4 (Multiplayer Only) [my personal prediction] GTA... will... get... owned. PS3 is putting their hopes on only one system seller which is actually good, and it aint gonna pay off.

Halo "insert number" is the only thing that could match a GTA title.

as for the next GTA title being "exclusive" to the ps3, it will be as long as Microsoft doesn't start requiring HD-DVD in their game titles. Which won't happen until their next system, in maybe 2010-11? Considering GTA IV isn't even out yet, it could be quite awhile before we see the next one. Wouldn't be surprised to only see one GTA title come out this generation.

MS didn't throw support behind HD-DVD because we're in the middle of a format war, and those never end well.

And when is the last time Sony won a format war? How many Betamax, Mini-Discs, or memory sticks have you used recently. Sony likes to fight format wars, but they always lose. Always.

What's the point of picking a standard if you have a 50-50 chance the media you use will be obsolete before the end of the console cycle? Say BluRay dies next year: Sony now has a worthless console for 3 years.

I agree that storage capacity is starting to lag for some video games, but it's a little premature to be betting the life of a console on BluRay or HD-DVD quite yet, IMHO.
